Debrief #5

Machine Name: Harvesters

Armaments:

Prototype: Missiles, Concussion Pulse, Melee Stomp, Hunter Backup

Military: Missiles, Concussion Pulse, Gas Release, Tick Deployment, Melee Stomp, Hunter Backup

FNIX: Missiles, Concussion Pulse, Gas Release (releases a gas akin to tear gas), Tick Deployment, Melee Stomp, Hunter Backup

Apocalypse: Gas Missiles, Concussion Pulse, Gas Release (releases an extremely deadly gas akin to nerve gas and gas a purple tint), Tick Deployment, Melee Stomp, Hunter Backup

Shared: Most attacks are shared as this was a heavily streamlined bot due to the machines natural need for metal and other components they are incapable of producing without the preprepared recourses made by the ancients before the machine uprising

Combat Tactics: Often seen around the remnants of cars, or what is left of cities, or most times in fields using the drill they have to drill down for resources, they are always guarded by upwards of 6 hunters, and when stacked will curl up using their heavily armored front legs to protect them. They then use this time and call in 2-4 hunters (depending on harvester variant) of the same class aka prototype calls prototype hunters

Weaknesses: While armored at the front, it varies an extremely large fuel tank on the back in an exposed position that when hit with gunfire, causes a massive explosion that deals heavy damage to the harvester

Special Notes: When it spots you, it will let out a howl that will attract other machines to you, but this does take time

Priority: Destruction of Harvesters should always have priority as they can call in an endless stream of hunger reinforcements

Notes from other survivors: Damn it, I should have known better by now. Always expect the unexpected and above all else, never trust the machines. First it was the seeker that seemed oh so harmless and ended up getting us surrounded and nearly killed, then it was an ambush by those damn ticks. This time however it was a massive four-legged machine. that we stumbled upon in the main square of a village we were passing through. Standing with heavily plated legs on either side of a flipped car, the machine was using what looked like an enormous drill to extract something from the vehicle. We quickly realized it must be a Harvester of some kind, collecting fuel and other resources from its surroundings. In short, we could use the fuel it was harvesting to destroy it.

(After the attempt to ambush the harvester)

Alright, so we were reckless and desperate, but in our defence, we didn't expect the blasted thing to be armed. As we started trying to wear it down with bullets two things dawned on us - the machine was heavily armoured, and it was able to defend itself. In fact, it slowly turned around and launched rockets at us. Rockets! Needless to say, we hightailed out of there as fast as our legs would carry us. Such a rookie move, we can't afford these kinds of mistakes anymore. Always expect the unexpected, and never waste resources on an improvised ambush. Next time, we will come with a battle plan.
