((I'm gonna try 3rd person POV for this chapter and y'all let me know what you think))
Hitomi woke up, slowly easing herself off the bed as her feet touched the cold hardwood floor. It was odd to her, she was used to her carpeting being the first to touch her vulnerable feet but this wasn't home. It came back to her all at once, she was leaving her home, if she was leaving for the right reasons still hadn't been determined by her. She could go back, go back and put up with the frustration of that man who she felt no love for.
Her life would be considered easy by most but to her it was a nightmare she couldn't escape. Her fiance or former fiance now was a cold shell of a man. Their relationship was not of her own free will, it thrust upon her by her family who saw an opportunity to sell off their daughter to a rich man. They lived together for a while and she hoped she'd learn to love him but there was nothing. He'd try to seem interesting to her because he did find her to be beautiful and would've loved to call her his bride. Yet her feelings remained unchanged so she left two days before the deal was sealed. Now leaving wasn't the hard part, it was going where the yikuza couldn't find her that was the issue. Unfortunately, her former fiance was the son to a higher up within the organization, thus forcing her to rely on their most trusted advisor of sorts, Orihara Izaya.
Hitomi forced herself to wake up fully and take a shower before heading out into the living room. A delicious aroma of morning pancakes filled her nose and she followed it longingly. There sitting on the couch was Celty and an unexpected guest, Izaya. "Hito-chan! We were just talking about you! Or at least me and Shinra were." Izaya teased Celty's mute state. Out of irritation Celty formed a shadow to cover Izaya's mouth. Even with the cover you could tell he had a smirk on his face.
"Izaya, if your just going to annoy Celty then I think leaving would be a good option." Shinra said strictly from the kitchen. A mocking laugh still escaped the raven haired man's covered mouth.
He wasn't phased by the dark cloak on his mouth, he was only concerned with one person. His mischievous auburn eyes never faltered in watching her. "Izaya? What are you doing here?" Hitomi asked confused and too tired to fully care.
Izaya looked to Celty so that he may reply and with a reluctant flick of her wrist she disbanded the mouth restraint, "I came to see how things were going. So I was asked to stay for breakfast."
"Which should be ready soon so everyone grab a plate," Shinra called out from the kitchen. All besides Celty went for the kitchen and grabbed a plate then went to shoot down at the table. Hitomi sat down quietly on the side of the table and Izaya sat next to her uncomfortably close.
"Can you be any closer?" she said annoyed.
"Sure, if you want Hito-chan I could sit on your lap!" the informant smiled.
"Ughhh," Hitomi groaned, drooping her head, a few stands of her chestnut hair falling into the sea of syrup on her pancake mountain.
Izaya chuckled at his new human's actions, he wanted to see more, to know more. Every smile, frown, pout that this human made was something he was sure he'd enjoy for a while. And to make things all the more perfect she needed him. He knew everything about her situation, as is to be expected of the informant, and he knew that should she be found she'd either be married off or killed. Neither of which he found to be beneficial for him. Should they find her his hold on her would break just as soon as he got her.
"Okay, well, I'm gonna go out."
"Huh? But Hito-chan hasn't finished her breakfast!" Izaya pointed out.
"I'm not up for it. Sorry Shinra."
"That's alright, I'll save it for later if you get hungry for them." The doctor smiled at her.
