"Namie I'm home!" Izaya called out happily hooking his jacket to the coat rack.
Out came a woman with long, dark brown hair, wearing a green turtle neck shirt, black leggings with a short red skirt over them, "Where have you been?" she asked monotonely while shuffling through paperwork.
"With Hitomi. Say hello to our guest!"
The woman looked up from her papers briefly before looking back down at them, "Hi."
"Hello," Hitomi returned the blunt greeting. "So you live here?" she asked Izaya.
"Yup! This is home sweet home! You should've seen my other place, it was a lot bigger. And I even had a better TV! Right Namie?" he said the last part bitterly.
"Will you let it go? This TV is the same as your last one."
"But I liked my old one! And then you have to go pouring water into it!" Izaya pouted.
"You're such a baby." she scoffed walking off. Izaya ignored the insult and turned to Hitomi, "Go on and have a seat. Hey Namie, put on a pot of tea!" he directed. The two went and sat on the black leather couch in wait of their drinks in an awkward silence. However, to Izaya the silence wasn't awkward but perfect for inspecting the human before him. She shuffled around uncomfortably, the couch creaking beneath her as her aqua green pools looked up to notice him staring at her.
"What?" she asked raising a brow.
"Nothing, you're just nice to look at." he smiled.
Hitomi's cheeks burned red in embarrassment, "S-so is that woman like your...?"
"Girlfriend?!!" he said with a laugh followed by more laughter. He was almost out of breath from the simple question. "No, no, Namie isn't my girlfriend, she's my assistant. She's actually in love with someone at the moment, so even if I did like her I doubt I'd have a chance. Love is weird like that don't you think!?"
"Huh? Love? Well..."
"Oh that's right you don't really know much on that topic, do you?"
"I know about love!" she snapped.
"So you're saying you've been in love before?"
"Well no..."
"Then how exactly do you know about it? Its kind of like a kid saying they know they don't like vegetables. Then they try it."
"But that's different."
"Yet so similar."
"So you've been in love before?"
He smirked at her, "Yes. I still am."
That caught Hitomi off guard, that was the last thing she expected to hear, "Oh."
"You seem surprised."
"Well I didn't peg you for a relationship kind of guy."
"I'm not." he said moving slightly closer.
"But?"
Izaya chuckled, "When I say I'm in love I mean with everyone. See its in my nature to love all humans. They're a passion of mine. Well, except for Shizu-chan."
"But that's not what i-"
Izaya cut her off with laughter, "I can't fall in love with one individual. It wouldn't be fair to my other beloved humans."
"Beloved humans?" Hitomi laughed.
"Hey what's so funny!?" Izaya said a bit insulted. He moved closer to her now sitting side by side since he was sitting so far away, it only made sense to be close to this interesting human.
