"Excuse me?" Izaya said questioningly. His face was completely perplexed, as if the idea of him ever saying such a thing was utterly impossible.

"You heard me. Come on. Say it. Please. Why do you want me here anyways if you don't love me?!" Hitomi cried.

"....so you want me to lie?" he asked hollowly. Hitomi's eyes began to water. She never felt so hurt, being stabbed couldn't compare to this pain of him not loving her. "Fine then, how does this sound 'I love you Hito-chan.'" he said bitterly. "There feel better?" she turned away from him with tears streaming down her face. He grabbed her face and faced it towards him. "Don't look away from me Hitomi." he said sternly.

"If you don't love me then why am I here!?"

He stroked her cheek gently, a saddened look coming over his usual smirk, "Why can't you understand...? I want you to understand...." he said in a soothing whisper.

"There's no reason I should stay..."

Izaya laughed, "Oh what you gonna leave? And go where!? You have nothing. Your family doesn't want you, the Yakuza isn't pleased with you. All you have is me. And all you want is me." he smiled, taking her hand and kissing it gently. "Go on, try saying I'm wrong...." Silence, "Can't do it?" again, silence. He was right, as always. "If you leave I promise you things won't look up, no one will help you. You'll die before that could ever happen. Leave me and I turn your life into a living hell. Maybe I'll be gracious enough to let you come back." by then she was shaking. And just like that his personality shifted to one that she was used to. His smirk returned and he kissed her softly as some sort of apology for being harsh. But she didn't kiss back. He didn't mind, "Let's go to sleep." He said returning to his side of the bed and holding her like he usually did.

Weeks passed and everything was fine, if anyone were to see them together they'd say they looked like a decent couple. And maybe even a happy one. However, there were rules. She was only allowed to speak to him or Namie. Same went for opening the door. And of course leaving was out of the question. But there was one that she had to discover herself. And that was to never utter the name Shizuo Heiwejima in Izaya's presence.

The day she found this out was a week or two after their discussion. Izaya was standing at the large window and looking down at something made him chuckle. Hitomi, being curious went over and saw Shizuo standing down there and looking up back at her beloved informant. "Isn't that Shizuo Heiwejima?" she asked. And that was it. She didn't react fully until she hit the ground. A burning then existing on her cheek.

Izaya loomed over her with a look of disgust, "Such a name shouldn't be spoken by lips that belong to me." he said. He had started saying stuff like that a lot more since then. It was just to make sure she knew that she was his no matter what.

There was a knock on the door one morning and Izaya told Hitomi to grab it. It was Namie coming in as usual, "Hey Hitomi." she greeted.

"Hi." Hitomi replied, following her back to Izaya's desk.

"Okay, ladies, I'm heading out. Hito-chan, be good for, Namie!"~ Izaya said passing them but stopping at the door.

Hitomi followed, "Where are you going?" Hitomi asked before kissing him.

"I have some business to attend to in Ikebukero."

"As usual." she smirked and sighed. He laughed and kissed her forehead and left. "I guess it's just us today Namie." she said looking at Namie at the computer probably looking into what Izaya had been up to.

"Guess so." she said with disinterest. That was all that was said between them for most of the day. They each kept to themselves. The only person that provoked a conversation between them was Izaya but when he was absent it was dead silence. Hitomi never knew what to think of Namie. At first she looked like she could be a threat but her love for her brother immediately cleared up the thought.
