"𝔗hank you for taking time out of your incredibly busy schedule to help us lowly peasants." Jasmine snarked, pushing one of her engineering projects into the back of her car as her boyfriend offered the next one. "Where have you been? I haven't seen or heard from you in three days. Three days!"
"I missed you too, Jas," Luke sighed, pushing her project gently into the car. "Look. I've been a little busy, all right?"
"Yeah, busy doing stupid shit most likely." Luke turned to look at his girlfriend, who was huffing to herself and placing another one of her inventions in the back of her car.
"Are you still annoyed about this?"
"What gave it away?" Jasmine huffed, as Luke sat in the boot of the car to watch his girlfriend pick up the reminder of her engineering projects and kit. "Was it the tone?"
"Nope." Luke shook his head. "It was the glaring and full stops at the end of your texts. That was a pretty clear idea."
"Prat." Jasmine dumped her box of gears and cogs onto Luke's lap as the boy hissed in pain. His muscles were aching, and this didn't help.
"Look, I get that you're still mad..."
"Oh do you?!" Jasmine growled, turning to glare up at the man. "I go off back into New York for all of two days! Two days! And in that time you somehow manage to betray the entirety of camp and almost kill a 12 year old for the tenth time in one summer!"
"It wasn't ten times in all fairness." He muttered.
"Not the point, Luke!" The older teenager had enough common sense to shut his mouth after that, not meeting Jasmine's glare. "You betrayed camp and in the process, betrayed me and I still can't believe you did that."
"It's not like that and you know it. We've had this conversation before," Luke replied, as Jasmine grabbed the car keys from his hand and attempted to slam the boot on his head. "Hey! Look, they don't care about any of us, and we're their children!"
"They're gods," Jasmine hissed, turning to look at Luke as he sat down in her car, doing his seatbelt up. "Would you prefer they keep coming around for afternoon tea and complain about how trash your grades are? Because I know that I wouldn't and that didn't mean that you had to poison Thalia last summer."
"Why are you still going on about this?" Luke replied, his eyes turning steely grey as he watched her. "You don't even live at camp anymore!"
"No because I can't face the guilt of lying to my siblings that I'm still seeing you," Luke raised an eyebrow. "Or the sympathetic looks I get because my boyfriend decided to betray all of them, and supposedly me, in the process!"
