"Anna! That's great!" Elsa said as she chopped carrots for a soup we were making.
I stroked Olaf's snowy coat. "I can't believe it. He said 'I love you'. This is the best day of my life!" I exclaimed.
"I don't want to disappoint you, but some high school relationships don't last forever. He could be saying I love you now, and he could also be saying I need a break later."
I frowned. That was true.
"But live in the present." She smiled.
I smiled back and felt my leg start vibrating. I reached into my jean pocket and pulled out my phone. Chris's face lit up the screen.
I lifted Olaf off of my lap and got up to answer it.
"Hey." I said over the phone.
"Are you free tonight?" I could hear the nerves in his voice.
"Yeah, why?"
"Oh good. I'll pick you up at seven?"
"Sure. What's at seven?"
"It's a surprise."
I smiled. "Ooh. I'm so excited."
He laughed. "You better be."
I hung up and checked the digital clock on the kitchen counter. It was six thirty.
"Holy crap! I have to get ready!"
I bolted up the stairs.
"Get ready for what?" Elsa called up the stairs.
"Chris is picking me up at seven." I hollered down to her.
I hopped into the shower and let the warm water wash over me. I furiously washed my hair and got out as quickly as I could to dry my hair.
I went into my room and picked the outfit I bought the other day with Elsa. I slid in on and brushed my wavy red hair. I put a black sparkly head band in and pushed my hair behind my ears. I took a long look in the mirror. Nothing looked right. This was our first date and I looked like a train wreck.
I heard the doorbell ring. No time to change now.
I slid down the banister and opened the door.
Chris stood before me in jeans and a button up shirt. They were the nicest clothes I have ever seen him wear.
He rubbed the back of his neck.
"You look...... amazing." He said.
"Oh stop. I know it's a horrible outfit."
"It's not in the least bit horrible. You really do look amazing. You would look amazing in bell bottoms and a grandma cardigan."
I laughed. "Speaking of bell bottoms." I peeked my head around his body and saw the brightly colored van sitting in front of my house.
He turned and looked at it too. "I was supposed to hire a limo-"
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him.
"It's perfect. I love it." I said when we pulled away.
Elsa came to the doorway and smiled.
"You two have fun. I want you home by midnight, ok?"
I nodded and skipped off to the van with Chris.
The door slid open and the interior of the van was revealed. Candles were scattered amongst the van, sending a glow against Pablo's old, kind face sitting in the front seat.
Chris helped me into the van and I sat down in one of the two plushy orange bean bags. The benches and beads had been taken out replaced with pink and white roses.
"Chris this is......" I was speechless. No limo could top how romantic this felt.
The van started moving and I looked over into Chris's blue eyes that sparkled in the candle light.
We talked about common knowledge that we should know about each other for about five minutes until the van came to a stop.
Pablo slid the back door open and helped me out of the van. Before me, a large building with a small fountain in the front with a large sign reading "The Olive Garden" had small grapevines twisting throughout the metal.
"It's no Michelin five star restaurant but they have unlimited breadsticks."
"How did you know this was my favorite restaurant?"
He grinned and held my hand while he walked me in.
We had a reserved table in a separate room away from the main dining. He pulled out my chair for me then took a seat in his own.
"Chris, you didn't have to do all of this. McDonalds at my place would've been fine."
He looked at me. "Our first date? I don't think so."
A waitress came over with two sparkling waters in fancy champagne glasses.
We cheers and take a sip.
Next, she comes over with a bowl of breadsticks. I couldn't help myself from eating an entire one in less than thirty seconds. We ate all of them in less than five minutes.
"I'm really sorry. I'm eating like a pig but seriously, I love breadsticks."
He chuckled. "Don't be sorry. I like a girl who likes food."
I giggled and we kissed lightly.
The waitress came over with a big bowl of spaghetti and placed it in the middle of us. I smiled. He had gone out of his way to make this night perfect, and it was.
We started twirling our forks around the spaghetti and I shoveled it into my mouth. We got to one forkful when a piece of spaghetti was strung between us. Every time I swallowed, the piece would come towards me and so would Chris. The spaghetti was inside his mouth too. Oh my gosh! Was this seriously happening? Was I having a Lady and The Tramp moment? Before I knew it, our faces were inches apart and Chris was smiling. I slurped up the piece and kissed him long and hard on the lips. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Elsa sitting in a booth outside the small room, peeking over her menu to take a video. I winked at her and she immediately hid back behind the menu. I closed my eyes and held Chris's face in my hands.
We pulled away slowly.
"That was...... wow." Chris laughed.
This was my happy ending.

Well all y'all except noobie101 who has been THE ONLY FRIGGIN PERSON TO COMMENT needs to comment.
Guys, I need your help. I don't care what you are commenting about, if you liked it, didn't like it, predictions for what is going to happen next (I know it's kinda obvious but in the future for my other books), suggestions for the next book, connections you had with the book, if you are also a writer you know how it feels to have a silent audience (unless your book is really popular which (I hope) my book will soon be). So come out of your shell and just comment.
COMMUNICATION MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND.
