Mother Or Father

Chapter 4: Lagertha, Siggy, Bjron, Ragnar

Siggy's Point Of View
The ride to Hedeby wasn't that long, I knew that this was where my Grandmother Lagertha lives I've known for years only this is the first time that I'll be going to Hedeby because mother and father never took any of us there except Erik maybe?

"Do you remember your grandmother, Siggy?" My grandfather asked as we where getting off of our horses.

"I remember that she was beautiful,kind if she loved you, would always give me a cookie because Aslaug's food would make you sick and that she is one of the greatest shield maidens of all time, she was the one who taught my mother how to fight and I've seen my mother kill a man who tried to rape her, wait no I've seen her kill many men who have tried to btu never had the chance to do so."I told him only for him to have a look of shock cross his face but then he just kept walking till we where in the Great Hall of Hedeby.

"And who are the two of you?" A lady asked, she had dark hair and tattoos up her neck.

"Well young Lady I'm Ragnar Lothbrok and this is my granddaughter Siggy Ironside." He said it like it was nothing but I haven't been called Ironside in ten years now and for some reason I wish to see my mother but I knew that I couldn't do that, till after I've seen my father again and to find out if he has remarried to this Porrun woman.

"Rag-" but before Lagertha got to even finish saying his name my Grandfather was kissing my grandmother and they looked at the way that my mother and father used to look at each other, they pulled away and then Lagertha saw me and looked from Ragnar to me then back to Ragnar.

"Is it really you Siggy?" She asked and I nodded my head not having the words to say anything more, soon I was hugging my Grandmother again after a very long time.

"How did you find her Ragnar?" Lagertha asked only for Ragnar to tell her.

"Torvi is living in Rogaland the town that's in the middle of Kattegat and Hedeby she's been living in plan sight for years so that if anything was to happen to us she would hear of it and when she left she was with child Lagertha we have six grandchildren Erik, Guthrum, Siggy, Hali, Asa and Ragnar, Ragnar looks just like Bjorn did when he was a boy." And I knew that my father lives in Kattegat and that my uncle and Grandfather Harald lived further up north but if anything was to happen we would hear the news.

"That's not fair you got a child named after you and all I got was Porrun who's not even worth it, your father Siggy went from a ten to a negative ten just like your grandfather but they always go back to the ten." She told me and as much as I wished that my father and mother where still together I knew that something happened and then we left. Though mother has never spoken ill about father.

"It was the Will of the Gods mother said when she had Ragnar, she says that he saved her from the darkness and if she didn't have her children then she would be nothing but a shell of the person she once was." I told Lagertha and that seemed to make her feel better knowing that it was the Will of the Gods not my mother.

"You are smart like your mother but look just like your father." She told me which makes me feel better knowing that I have something of my mother in me because she would always tell me that I look just like my father would if he was a girl.

"Thank you." I told her before we sat down and talked for a few hours. About my brothers, sister and mother. My father and his knew wife who I'm guessing is not liked by many form the way there all talking about her.

"Siggy it's time to go to Kattegat you will see Your Grandmother on the way back home to your mother and siblings." Grandfather Ragnar said before hugging Lagertha and I then we left for Kattegat, to my father and uncles.

Bjorn's Point Of View
"Queen Aslaug there's a man and woman approaching Kattegat." The slave said and all Aslaug did was look at her children, my sister and I only for us to all get up and leave going to the market place where the man and woman would have to go through to reach the Great Hall.

"Bjorn be safe my love." My wife Porrun yelled after me, I know that my mother, sister and half brothers all hate her they always say that I should of found a way to make things work between Torvi and I but it didn't and then I married Porrun and she hasn't been able to have child while I don't know if I have any living children left in the world seeing as I haven't heard from Torvi in ten years and nether has Harald or Halfdan.

I walked with my brothers and Gyad to the market place only for them to all say,

"Father, what are you doing here?" But I looked up and saw that my daughter was with him and I couldn't give a shit about anyone but her right then.

"Siggy," I said it so quietly that only Gyad and Ubbe heard me they both looked at me before Gyad asked,

"What do you mean Siggy, Bjorn I don't see her." But I just told the whole of Kattegat to,

"Shut up and let my father talk!" They all stopped talking and made a path for my father to walk down and my daughter was at his side and this time instead of me saying,

"Siggy" it was my sister who ran at her with open arms hugging her and asking her a bunch of questions while I waited for Gyad to let go of my daughter so I could hug her.

"Father." She said it so quietly that it sounded more like the wind but I knew that it was my sweet daughter Siggy.

"Siggy, it's really you, has something happened to your mother and siblings?" I asked looking around for them only to see that it was only my father and Siggy no Torvi, Erik, Guthrum, Hali or Asa anywhere in sight.

"It's really me father, nothing has happened to mother or my siblings they are just still in Rogaland, mother's still not ready to met your knew wife and Erik and Guthrum both say that they know why you and mother broke up and that they won't nothing to do with you. Hali and Asa don't remember much about you nor ask and Ragnar has never asked about his father." Siggy told me and I knew the first four of them where my children but I never had a sixth child with Torvi.

"How old is Ragnar, Siggy?" I asked knowing that Torvi and I did sleep together the day that they left so if his ten then that means that his probably mine but he could be someone else's child.

"His ten father." Maybe? Is what I'm going with on that.

"Bjorn my son, Ragnar is 100% your child don't question it I've met him and he looks just as you did at that age." My father told me, so I guess I do have six children after all.

"Okay then, come Siggy I want you to met my wife Porrun." I told her only for her to not move only for her to say.

"I do not wish to met the woman that you are going to try and make my mother seeing as I already have a mother, you remember my mother don't you, you where married to her for 15 years her name is Torvi the only daughter of King Harald Fine Hair and only sister of your best friend father Prince Halfdan The Black." She told me and I knew the second that she started talking that there was going to be no way in hell that I could get her to met my knew wife with out killing her and knowing Torvi all of our children would be able to fight and they would be great fighters seeing as they come from a long line of warriors and shield maidens.

"Fien you don't have to met her, how long will you be staying, Siggy?" I asked wanting to know how long I had with my daughter.

"I'm leaving the day after tomorrow." She told me so I knew that I was going to have to make the next day count because if it didn't then I know for a fact that I won't be seeing my child again, I know that I should be great full that she's here but I wish that all of her siblings where here and I really want to see her mother again the woman who still has most of my heart, Torvi.
