As we were travelling to the venue, all I could hear around me were conversations about how they brought autograph books to get signed from the celebrities and bands that were coming along. I didn't manage to bring any because I was in such a rush. Plus, I'm not a big fan of the celebrities which are coming. I love Tulisa. Her music is awesome!
"So, Amanda, how's your family?" I turned around to face Hailey who looked absolutely stunning.
"Oh, yeah they are fine bless them. How about yours?"
"Good thanks. Gosh I must say, where did you get your dress from? You look amazing!"
"I brought it from Dress Up. It's an amazing store. They have every dress in stock!"
Hailey paused for a moment then opened her mouth wide enough to put a bunch of grapes in!
"Shut up! I got my dress from there too!" I was totally stunned when she said that! She brought her dress from the SAME store?
"No way!"
"Way! Sisters unleashed!"
I love the way she talks. While she was giggling, I managed to get a glimpse of what Paris was doing. Texting.
"Paris!"
As I said her name, startled, she hid her phone behind her as she faced me.
"Amanda. Erm... You look..."
"What? Lost for words?"
I chuckled hoping she would too, but she gave a little smile. Hailey managed to butt in.
"What's wrong P? You ok? You don't seem very well."
"No. I'm... I'm fine. Just a little wheezy but..."
"WHEEZY?!" Me and Hailey were shocked at the thought of that and quickly got up. All the chattering stopped around us and everyone were staring right at us.
"You guys, calm down. I said I'm fine."
She was shivering and was going blue.
"No, you're not alright Paris! Look at you! You're..." Just at that moment, a text message chime came from her phone. She refused to look at it because it was hidden behind her back.
"Paris? Why are you hiding your phone?" The conversations resumed around us while me and Hailey were puzzled.
I managed to grab her phone behind her and read the text message.
"NO AMANDA!" Paris shrieked when I read the message.
It read, "Fine. If you want to break up with me because of Amanda, then fine be it. I don't want to see you after this. No reply."
When I looked at Paris, she had her head down.
"Paris. What is this? You sent a message to Ricky, asking him to break up with you, because of ME?"
Hailey was shocked and Paris looked at me frightened.
"I'm so sorry Amanda I..."
"NO PARIS! You broke my trust! I thought you were my good friend, my CLOSE friend, and you took advantage of that, decided to ignore what I said, and broke up with him?"
Tears were running down her cheeks when I said that. We had reached the venue and everyone was getting out.
"Don't even speak to me Paris. I gave you a chance and you ruined it. For yourself. Piss off."
I went out the limousine with Hailey. Hailey cuddled me to calm me down. I took a deep breath and smiled. I hated what Paris did but, I couldn't ruin the disco night for myself. The boys had come and the girls were all lined up. They stepped out of their limousine one by one, getting in a row themselves. They were opposite us. The guy that was opposite me, looked at me and smiled. Boys can smile at girls. It's ok.
I was searching for the guy with a red rose. Apparently, no-one had a red rose. Maybe he hid it. I saw Ricky standing next to Ethan. The guy who is the cause of mine and Paris' breakup. He looked at me and smiled. I gave him a dirty look and looked the other way. Anxiously, he put down his head and frowned.
"Welcome years 9 and 10 to the 2012 Disco Night! Today is a day for you to celebrate your achievement in attendance and punctuality! Please pick your partners with whom you will dance with!"
I looked around as people moved around. Paris went over to Nathan. Just a guy in our class. Ricky was standing idly waiting for someone to come. Hailey shook me and asked me who I will go to. I was unsure so I just shrugged. She smiled and went over to Ethan. I had no other choice but to go to Ricky. I went over to him and he smiled again. I couldn't help but smile back.
And Paris was watching all of it...
