"You guys tired from all that go-karting up and down the hill?" Buck joked looking at their faces. Marjan looked at them for a moment, fear in her eyes. "You didn't hear, did you?" "He-hear what?" TK asked his smile quickly turning into a worried frown. "The helicopter went down." Judd replied. There was a sudden ringing in TK's ears. He started hyperventilating. "What's wrong with him?" Eddie asked. "Our Cap is his Dad." Marjan answered. "TK? TK?" Judd said putting his hand on his shoulder snapping him back to reality. "Judd?" "You gotta breathe, kid." "But, Dad, he-" "I know, kid. But you need to calm down before we do anything else." Judd's chest ached at the pain and fear in TK's eyes. "We'll find him. But you need to calm down before we can do anything." TK couldn't help the tear that slowly rolled down his cheek. "Deep breaths, TK." Marjan said softly. Eddie and Buck couldn't help the ache in their chest. Though they all had only met a few hours ago, they still felt awful for TK.

TK calmed after two minutes. A random firefighter shouted, "Meeting about the copter going down!" TK sprang to his feet. "You ain't goin'!" "I need to know, Judd! I need to know! You wouldn't want to be left outside if Grace was the one in the chopper! You wouldn't, you would fight to get in there to know!" "He's not wrong." Mateo said. "I'm going to that meeting, you can't stop me."

"Yeah but what we need to do is get containment. In here, and here, or if I make it myself-" "This is a joke!" TK yelled slamming his hand on the table. "We know, exactly where the chopper went down! So why haven't you sent out a rescue team?" "As I said, the beacon is coming, from two miles inside an active burn zone. It is not safe to send anyone up in the dark." "Commander, with all due respect," Judd started. "We accept the risk, we ain't askin' anyone else to go." "You know I can't authorize that." "You know, those are our people up there." Buck said. "They could be bleeding out, right now, dying!" TK put emphasis on the last word, the worry and sadness clear in his voice. "Son, we haven't had any cell, or radio contact since the Mayday. Nobody else is risking their lives tonight. And your father would be the first one to agree with me." "You expect me to sit back, when my Dad could be dying right now? When-when their teammate could be dying?" "I know you're worried. Believe me, we all are, but Captain Strand would rather his son and his team to be safe." With that TK gave him a death stare and a dirty look rolled in one.

TK took out his phone. He searched for Carlos. Carlos answered on the second ring. "Hey, babe. How's the fire going?" "Carlos. Dad, helicopter-" "Whoa, whoa, take a breath for me, Tiger. Nice and slow." TK did so. "Ok, now, what happened?" "D-Dad went up in a chopper with a LA firefighter. The-the chopper went down. They-they won't even send out a rescue team! Dad could be bleeding out, dying! And I-I, I can't do anything!" "Okay, okay, first take a few breaths." TK did. "Good. Okay, your Dad's okay. How do I know that? Because I've seen both of you in action. If he can survive 9/11 and battle cancer, he can survive a chopper crash. You are strong, he is strong, your team is strong." TK took another deep breath. "Yeah. Ok, You're right." He replied sadly. "I love you." "Love you too Los. Bye. What's up?" TK asked. "Well, they just delivered 20 kinds of pizza, if you're hungry." "I'm good." TK said getting up. "Thanks." "They survived the crash." Buck said as TK was about to walk away. "Believe it. And your Dad is with Hen, so uh, heh, he's in really great hands." "So is she." TK replied sadly. "No doubt." Buck replied. "Look, my-my Captain's not my Dad. But he might as well be. He could have given up on me, so many times, but he never did. Even when I used steal the fire truck" "You used to steal the firetruck?" TK asked amused. "All the time." "Yeah, my...my Dad, he-he's never given up on me either. And I've done a LOT worse than steal the firetruck." Buck chuckled at that. "It just sucks. You know, just sitting here...doing nothing." "Well, what if we didn't have to?" "Is that..?" "Keys to a firetruck? Yes, it is." (FAVOURITE SCENE! TK DEFO STOLE THAT LATER IN SEASON 2 WHEN HE TURNED ON THE SIREN IN THE AMBULENCE!!)
