After the 'How's the most beautiful person in the world doing?' thing, everyone in Karasuno was determined to make Kageyama confess to his crush. However, there was one little problem.
No one had even a single idea on how to make that happen. They tried making Tobio go up to Shoyo and say it. But as most might have predicted, the youngest member of Karasuno said:
"I'm not going to confess to that little moron! I rather stay without milk for a day!"
And the chaotic second year duo had also ran out of ideas of pick up lines the blubbery setter could use on the tangerine middle blocker.
But lucky, Yū had the amazing idea of making Hinata use a pickline on Kageyama. And he knew just the perfect one for the carrot top to use. So, later on that day, he went up to his short buddy to tell him his wonderful plan. So as soon as he found the oldest first year, he ran up to him.
"Shoyoo!" Noya exclaimed.
"Noya-san!" Hinata exclaimed back.
The orange haired boy said as he ran towards the older's direction.
"Hehe. Shoyo!"
"Noya-san!"
When they reached eachother. They held hands and played while giggling for a while.
"Shoyo! Can you do something for me??" asked the libero.
"Of course I can! What is it??" answered the spiker in a happy and slightly confused tone.
A few moments later, Noya was done explaning his plan to Shoyo. The younger boy stayed shocked with a light blush on his face for a few seconds before replying with:
"Alright! I'll do it!"
"Wait really?!" asked Nishinoya in a bit of shock.
"Yeah! Why are you so surprised?"
"... I thought you would say no"
There was a moment of silence, before the tangerine's expression changed from a confused one to a shock expression of realization.
"...Oh!! Now I get it!! You and Tanaka-san made Bakayama use those pick up lines on me, didn't you??" said Hinata with a smile.
"Wait- How did you-?!?" Tanaka said, stumbling on his own words.
"Well... It's obvious he wouldn't say them out of his own free will" explained the youngest of the three.
"Touché" replied Noya
After that, they decided when would they start the plan. And they agreed that Hinata would do it after practice, since it was his and Kags' turn to organize the gym.
After practice, everyone had left the gym, just to go to the same spot where they were in the yawn thing.
"I can't belive I'm here again" grumbled Tsukishima in a low voice.
" Well... You did say you wanted to see-"
Kei covered Yamaguchi's mouth before he could even finish his sentence. Because, he somehow knew that the greeenet was bound to say something he didn't want the others to know.
"Both of you, be quiet! Hinata is makin' a move!" exclaimed Kiyoko in a whispering tone.
Everyone turned their heads to the direction the black haired girl was poiting at so quickly that even the flash would be jealous. They all waited ansiously for what Shoyo was going to say. They were all curious to see what pickup line Noya told the tangerine to use.
"Hey, Kags" called out Hinata. With that, the bluberry turns around to face the shorter male an answered him:
"What?"
"I just got a new nickname for you!" the older said in a cheery voice. Making everyone that was watching frown their eyebrows in confusion. Except Tanaka and Nishinoya of course.
The taller just sighed and closed his eyes for a second before replying. Thinking it would be just another nickname the shorter could use to tease him.
"And what is this 'new nickname'?"
For a few moments, there was a silence, before Hinata looked Kageyama right in the eye to answer the younger's question.
" 'Nothing' "
Tobio looked at Shoyo with a shocked and almost saddened expression. He never expected this from his orange haired crush. And the others weren't too different from him. Everyone minus Nishinoya an Tanaka had their eyes widened so wide, it looked like they would come out of their faces any second.
"Why would you two tell Hinata to tell Kageyama that?!" asked Daichi in an irritated whispering tone.
"Yeah! That was mean!" agreed Yachi.
"Don't worry about it! Shoyo isn't done yet" Noya said in a suggesting tone
Everyone looked back at the duo, to see Kageyama's reaction. Still confused by their libero's words. After snapping out of his shocked trance, the black head turned his back to the shorter and lowered his head to hide his saddened expression.
It felt like reality had hit him with a ton of bricks. He meant nothing to someone he loved and cared deeply. He was nothing to Hinata. While the shorter meant the world to him. He asked himself why did love have to be so complicated and so damn hard.
"Is it because I mean nothing to you?" Tobio asked in an almost monotone voice, holding back his tears. All while to hide how sad he was actually feeling at that moment.
Now it was Hinata's turn to be shocked. Even if the other wasn't showing it, he knew he had hurt his best friend. And now he had to make things right. Out of instinct, he went up to the taller and gave him a back hugged while holding Tobio tightly by his waist. There were a few seconds of silence before he answered the younger's question.
"Kags! Of course not! You mean a whole lot to me"
"Then why did you think 'nothing' would be a good nickname for me??"
The older made the younger face him and looked at Kageyama straight in the eye. Which additionally made Tobio blush at the closeness an Shoto's tight yet soft grip on his waist.
In almost slow motion, a smug grin mad itself present on Hinata's features as he answered his best friend:
"Because if someone asks me what I'm thinking about, I can snd will say 'nothing'~"
Andas a finishing touch, Shoyo ended the sentence with a flirty wink at Kags' direction. The taller male was now as red as Tendou's hair. He covered his face with both of his hands, while Hinata just chuckled at the younger's reaction. Still hugging him of course.
But what about the others?
Well, they were just standing there, shocked and trying to process what they had just witnessed. But now, Noya was the one recording everything with a proud smile and Tanaka had a wide grin satisfied plasttered across his face.
