A few days had passed at this point and Fern was very much infatuated with the flower princess, y/n. He just couldn't get her out of his head!
Thankfully it was a Friday so he hoped that she wouldn't be too busy and that they could hang out! Maybe go on a date? The very thought of a date made the grassy teen blush with excitement.
Fern had gone down from his room on the roof and went into the kitchen with a yawn and a stretch of his arms, "Good morning my homies!" He exclaimed with a happy smile. "Great day to go out and help the princess of the flower kingdom, huh?"
Finn was chilling at the table with a cup of orange juice as Jake made some bacon and pancakes, the sweet smell of syrup and sizzling bacon grease in the air. Jake smiled over at him and chuckled, "Well its nice to see you all hyped up and happy in the morning!"
Finn nodded in agreement, "Yeah man, I hate to ruin your mood and everything bro but y/n called this morning and left a message for you."
Fern didn't even pay attention much until your name was brought up, the fact you called made him all giddy. "She called?? And you didn't tell me?? What she say??" He questioned the other teen, hounding the poor boy.
"Well uh....she said that it wasn't really necessary for you to come over today since she wouldn't be in the kingdom. She's hanging out with a new friend of hers or something and will he busy all day." Finn slowly grew more quiet as he went on, looking away awkwardly. "So...sorry about that..." he muttered.
Fern stared in confusion. New friend? Is....is he being replaced? Who could she have possibly me-Oh. The ice king. He growled quietly before taking in a deep breath and sighing, returning his smile. "Thats okay, Finn! I'll just stop by at her friend's place and join her along her day. She needs a body guard and I am her knight in grassy armor after all!" He exclaimed.
Finn sighed relieved and smiled at the boy, "Thats good to hear man, just don't over smother her snd stay outta the way mostly okay? Princess duties, yknow."
"I hear you loud and clear buddy!" Fern waved off and headed out the door calling back with a loud, "See you guys later!"
"Bye!" "Take care, don't get into any trouble out there!"
Once he shut the door behind him he sighed, a smile on his face as he punched the ground as hard as he could with his large fist.
"The old bastard just never learns huh?...He better not be doing anything."
He grumbled out and glared in the direction of the ice kingdom, "I'm coming y/n....don't worry."
And with that he started his journey, making his way all to the ice kingdom just to see his princess. His princess.
