When did things get so crooked? It can't be just the alcohol talking... I mean, I did drink way too much, but is this normal? I've been staring at this God forsaken bathroom mirror for 10 minutes and I still can't make sense of it.
-Jesus Christ. -Lily says behind me inside one of the stalls, trying to catch her breath. -I don't know why I still go out with you two. I always end up hurling like a college student before the night is even over.
-Well, we do try to hold you back a little. -Sarah comforts her with a chuckle. Through the mirror's reflection, I see her bent over, holding Lily's hair back.
-It's a little on me, but mostly on you. I'm only like this when I'm with you guys. -She giggles.
-It's not our fault you're weak. I mean, Mona drank way more than you did and she's fine. -Sarah argues.
I hear Lily turning around, probably to look at me.
-Are you sure about that? -She mocks, in reference to my senseless focus on the mirror.
Sarah comes in my direction and stands by my side, slowly leaning in, trying to cover the mirror with her head. She's getting a bit too close for my fangirl taste.
-Mona? -She calls my name carefully like I'm lost and confused, which I am but just a little bit. -Are you okay?
In response, I gather all my courage to divert my gaze into hers. Oh, she has great eyes.
-You have great eyes. -Um?! I didn't mean to say that out loud?!
-Thanks. -She giggles. -I like yours too.
-Thanks. -I smile softly. If only she knew what I'd actually like to answer. -If only you knew what I'd actually like to answer. -Oh, no. I didn't do that, did I?
-What? -I'm met with a surprised look from Sarah. Yup, I totally did do that. I fucking hate alcohol.
-I... -I drag the word on for a while, trying to think of something to say. -I'd actually like to answer "no. I do not like my eyes, but yours are still great.". -I manage to lie with a slurred speech.
-Right. -She tilts her head, still confused, but amused this time.
Okay, calm down Mona. I am apparently so drunk, I can't think certain things without saying them out loud. So just... Relax. Relax and don't think about Sarah.
-Sarah. -Oh, come on!
-Yes? -Her amusement seems to be increased.
-Nothing. -I stutter. -I'm just... Checking.
-Checking?
-Yes.
-Checking what?
-I don't know. -I run out of my already limited energy and can no longer lie. -But it's something, I'm sure.
-See? Mona's great too. -Lily laughs, joining us by the mirrors. -We should go check on Pedro. He's been left alone for way too long.
-Oh, you're right! -Sarah agrees.
We leave the bathroom and see the bar is practically empty, but most importantly, Pedro is nowhere to be seen.
-Damn it, we're too late. -Lily says as they sigh in frustration.
-What do you mean "too late"? Where's Pedro? -I ask, slightly worried.
Slowly, they exchange looks and turn around to look at the men's bathroom door.
-Passed out by the sink is our best bet. -Sarah scoffs. -But there are a few unlucky days where we find him inside a stall.
-Oh, shit. -I say, a tad drunkenly emotionless. -What do we do now?
