Katie's POV

I sat beside Amy and listened to Prof. Knight.

"Today's final will judge your ability to assess a child's fear, and perform the appropriate scare in the Scare Simulator. The Child Sensitivity Level will be raised form bed-wetter, to Heavy Sleeper, so give it everything you got. Dean Hardscrabble is with us this morning to see who will be moving on in the Scaring Program, and who will not," Knight explained. I looked up at the Dean who was staring down at everybody. I felt my anxiety raise up when she looked directly at me. I gently slid down in my chair, and slightly hid myself with my hoodie, pulling my hood over my head, as I fiddled with the strings. "Let's get started," He added. The first monster had a light shined in his face. "I'm a five year old girl afraid of spiders, and Santa Claus. Which scare do you use?" He asked.

"Uh..." The monster started and noticed Hardscrabble up on the balcony. "That's a Seasonal Creep and Crawl." He answered.

"Demonstrate," Professor Knight said. The monster did so making the robot child scream, and the scream can lit up halfway. "Results will be posted outside my office. Next." He said.

Mike was still studying, as I was a complete mess. I was anxiously tapping my finger on the chair's arm, as my leg bounced up and down. I heard the doors open, and looked up to see my brother, and his gang of monsters.

Great.

Just what I need when I'm already anxious enough. No doubt I'll be judged by my brother once I get out of here.

"Pull yourself together, Worthington. What other people think doesn't matter right now." I thought to myself. Sullivan walked by us, and knocked Mike's books over, purposely.

"Hey, do you mind?" I whispered.

"Don't mind at all." Sullivan whispered back before he practiced quiet roars for a warm-up. I knew it was to impress my brother.

Randy got up from his chair. "Come on, guys, let's just move." He said, as he got up.

"Yeah, come on, it's not worth it. Let him embarrass himself." Amy added as she, Jess, and Aaron followed Randy.

I bent down, and helped Mike pick up his books. "Stay out of our way. Unlike you, we both had to work hard to get the things we wanted." I said, as we began to leave.

"That's because neither of you belong here." Sulley said. We both stopped in our tracks, and turned around to Sullivan who was still practicing quiet roars.

That made my blood boil with anger. I may be afraid to express my feelings, but I will turn into a complete different monster if anyone insults me like that. I didn't stay up for 6 hours every night and drained all of the energy out of me just to have some famous scares son tell me I'm not worth it.

This angered Mike, and being the cocky monster he is, quietly growled at Sullivan. Sulley returned it making Mike flinch and back up. It even made me flinch. "That's what I thought." He chuckled before going back to roaring quietly.

Mike threw his books down, and went over beside Sullivan before he too begin to practice quite roars. The 2 began to challenge each other. I looked back at my friends who was looking up at Hardscrabble they looked at me, and I just gave them a shrug.

"Will two cut it out? You're going to get us in trouble." I whispered firmly.

"Not until he apologizes." Mike said.

"What is there to apologize for?" Sulley asked.

"Leave him alone!" I whisper-yelled, and threw one of Mike's books at Sulley. It hit him in his chest, making him stumbling backwards into Hardscrabble's statue and canister. He knocked into the canister, sending it to the ground. I covered my mouth, realizing my mistake I had made.
