He knocked.

"Persephone, are you awake?" He cracked the door open and peeped inside. Her back was towards him while she laid in the bed. He stepped inside and quietly approached her bed.

She laid there asleep.

Instead of leaving her to sleep, he sat at the end of her bed. She changed sleeping positions upon feeling his weight on the bed.

He touched her hand which laid at her side. He rubbed the back of it with his thumb and listened to her soft breathing. The moonlight shined through the windows and illuminated her face. "You're even beautiful when you sleep."

He reached up to move her hair from her face. "I love you."

She slowly opened eyes and sat upon her elbow.

"Do you really?"

He laid down beside her. She moved over a bit for him. He intertwined his fingers with hers, her hands were soft and warm and his were callused and cold.

"Yes. I do. I know that I haven't been the best. But, I want to make this place feel like home to you."

"Jungkook... you always beat around the bush. I don't want to feel at home here, I want to go home. You need to let me go."

"No, I won't let you leave me." He replied softly but, his words still came off as cold.

She gave a sharp sigh and pulled away but, he grabbed her arm and pulled her closer.

"Jungkook..."

He couldn't let her leave him. In this short time of being with her, he had already grown attached to her. He couldn't remember his life before her and now she was his top priority, his days were centered around her.

She was so beautiful it seemed that every time he looked into her eyes, he went into a trance. He saw himself with her and her only from then on.

He pulled her closer and kissed her lips. His other hand slid up her leg and under her dress.

"Wait." She pulled away from him. "What-- what are you doing?"

"... oh... sorry."

"I think I'm fine." She lowered her eyes to his unbuttoned shirt exposing his toned chest. "If you want to keep me here as your prisoner--"

"--Prisoner?" He repeated. For some reason he was a bit offended but understood why she said what she did.

"--Then I'll be fine. I think I can make it down here."

"You don't want to see your family anymore?" He asked confused as to why she changed her mind so suddenly.

"I do. But, there's no use in bringing it up again if you're so adamant about keeping me here. It was my fault anyway."

"What's your fault?"

"I left the garden that day and I knew that I wasn't supposed to. My mom was protecting me, she always tries to protect me but, I never listen. She was protecting me from this and I decided to disobey her. Now, I have to live with my mistake. So why cry over spilled milk." She placed her hand on his chest.

"Do you regret leaving?"

He hoped that she would say no but, he knew that she would say that she indeed did regret leaving her garden that day. He knew that she didn't love him and would probably never love him the way that he loved her.

But, he still wished that she would give him a glimpse of hope.

She looked up at him.

"Do you really want me to answer that?"

"It was worth a try." He said to himself.

"I'm hungry." She pulled away from his hold and got out of the bed. "I'm gonna get something to eat."

"Why don't we have breakfast together?" He sat up.

"No." She said in her sweet voice. "I think I'd rather just eat by myself right now."

She left the room and closed the door behind herself leaving him alone

... again.
