chpt 12: convenience store pt2

[third person pov]

"its cold" Minju said to herself as she took another sip of her mango slushy.

Again, she rested her head on the table and shivered in cold. Her hand stretched out across the table as a form of cushion for her head. Minju slowly closed her eyes and suddenly felt a figure behind her.

Feeling a little warmer as the figure blocked the gust of cold wind, she raised her head to get a glance of him at the back, quickly realising who it was.

"Hwall" Minju looked at him bitterly.

"hey" he stared at her small body shivering in cold, feeling a little bad he didnt have a jacket on him to lend her.

"your things" Placing her purse and a shoe bag on the table.

"thanks hwall" minju then proceeded to check if all her valuables were there.

"dont think so much about it" those words made Minju froze.

"he's like this" hwall said looking at the ground

"he gets a little hot headed when he's jealous, so try to understand him"

Minju let out a tear hearing Hwall trying to comforting her.

"he was jealous?" Minju said stuttering as her voice shaked.

"ask him"

"huh?"

"go ask him" Hwall smiled and looked over to the apartment building in the distance.

"no.. he doesnt want to see me" Minju said as she covered her face with her hand deeply sighing.

"yes, yes he does. you regret it dont you?"
Hwall looked at her in pity.

"dummy go and see him, be it now, later or tomorrow. do it before its too late Lee Minju" flicking her forehead before standing up. leaving her alone to collect her thoughgs.

Not long after, Minju took out her phone to check the time. Looking at the battery percentage (15%)

"my phone's about to die" she stared at the battery percentage for a good minute and finally decided what to do.

"it was fake anyways" Minju's voice shaked as she said the overwhelming truth.

She stood up, grabbed her purse and shoe bag and walked all the way home.

Minju opened the door to her shared house with her brother, and to her surprise, her brother was at home.

"sangyeon.." Minju's voice cracked as she looked into her brother's eyes.

Seeking for comfort, tears accumulated in her eyes faster than her brother's questions.
Sangyeon looked at her in confusion, not knowing what happened. He scooted over and patted the empty space, indicating her to have a seat beside him.

"come here" Minju ran towards her brother and wailed.

"i dont know what to do" Words managed to get through her teeth as she sniffled and cried harder.

Minju explained everything that had happened that day, emphasising the heated argument. Not missing even a single detail as she cried.

"its not your fault Minju"

"Take a break from him, let YOUR heart decide what you want to do. Be true to yourself, youre Lee Minju" Sangyeon assured his younger sister, patting her head.

"i-i will thank you sangyeon" trying to get the last sentence out before she continued her session of crying.

Not long after, Minju fell asleep on her brothers shoulder. Sangyeon smiled as he saw his sister finally growing up.

"i'll always be by your side, whenever you need me"
