Eloise knew for years that she wanted to go to university. She wanted to break that glass ceiling that had been holding women back for too long. When she finally got to the right age, she wanted to follow in her brothers footsteps and go to oxford university. They unsurprisingly supported her, they just wanted the best for her, even if they truly didn't understand why she didn't want what they classed as a normal life.
She was in her second year of university when she met Y/N, both of them being two of the few women in university, they got along immediately, recognising that there is solidarity in numbers. What started of as friendship eventually lead to more, although it was very one sided. Y/N recognised that if Eloise didn't like her back romantically that she would rather have Eloise in her life as a friend rather than nothing at all. It was slow but inevitable, it came to ahead when they kissed when they were both in oxford's library. They then faced the problem of telling Eloise's family. They knew because of the time, they didn't expect a positive outcome. They expected a big fight and eventually being kicked out and being shunned out of the family.
Eloise had decided to tell her family when she had gone back to visit during the holidays. She had walked in and hugged all her family. "I want to introduce you to someone", she grabbed Y/N's hand and guided her into the lounge room where all her family was sat. "This is my girlfriend Y/N". Her family looked at each other and then back to Eloise and Y/N, who was just stood there looking down to the ground. Anthony got up first and hugged his sister, "I am glad you felt comfortable with telling us and I'm sure I speak for the rest of the family, when I say that we support you and this doesn't change anything". One by one all her family came up and hugged the couple, they both never felt more accepted and loved.
