Tommy POV:

I'm getting adopted. This can't be happening.

"TOM GET READY!" I shiver at the nickname, I always hated it. I don't want to be adopted. Last time I was fostered, I got kicked out and ended up back here again.

"Coming!" Hanna was nice, but it's still an orphanage. I quickly changed, avoiding looking in the mirror as much as possible. I finally managed to somewhat fix my hair before stepping into the hallway. Hanna smiled at me, flipping her brown hair and holding out her hand. I took it and we walked to the lobby.

"Wait," She paused, closing her eyes. A few seconds later, a small red flower grew on her braid. She picked it a tucked it over my ear, smiling. I gave the Earth Hybrid a half-hearted smile as she pulled me in for a hug. "Bye!" She waved as I stepped into the lobby.

"Tomathy?" I tried not to flinch at my full name, looking up slightly. A tall, brunette man and a shorted blond were waiting in front of me smiling. I studied them for a second before dropping my gaze. The brown haired man, in his twenties by the looks of it, was wearing a maroon beanie and a yellow sweater. The blond had a black trench coat over a green and white striped shirt and had a bucket hat to match.

"'Ello," I say quietly, wondering whether they were ok with me speaking or not. Yellow sweater's smile faltered, slightly confused, but returned quickly. I took that as an invitation to speak. "I-I'm Tommy." I kept my voice low just in case, receiving a nod from the blond that I was ok.

"Hi Tommy, I'm Phil and this is my son Wilbur!" The blond said, gestured to the taller. "Ready to go?" I nodded, grabbing my backpack and following them to the door. As I cautiously got into the car, I avoided questions and stayed quiet as best I could. Please let this family be better.

Technoblade POV:

I looked at the text from Wil in annoyance.

Wil

On our way, kids human I think, quiet tho

I think the quiet was supposed to help in some way, but it didn't. Why would Phil choose a human? Hybrids are endangered to them, either an animal or a threat. Or both.

"We're home!" I stood up, pulling my cape around my shoulders. I hoped he was young enough to be taught we aren't bad. I see Phil enter with Wilbur, then a short, blonde boy trail behind. He stopped dead when he spotted me, evidently studying my pink hair and Piglin ears.

"Y-you're a hybrid!" He breathed, causing Wil to raise an eyebrow.

"Yes." I deadpanned, looking into his eyes. Yet, instead of fear or disgust, I saw plain shock. Interesting. "So are Wilbur and Philza." Wil nodded, taking off his leather jacket and unfolding two gray wings. Phil followed suit with his trench coat, stretching his black wings behind him proudly.

"I-" He stopped, looking at Phil nervously. He only cocked his head, interested in what the kid had to say. "I've never met a hybrid other than Hanna," He said quietly.

"Tommy," Phil said slowly, shooting me and Wil a look of 'don't scare him'. "Can you take off your hat?" Tommy nervously fiddled with the end of his beat up fedora, before finally removing it. Wil's eyes widened and Phil smiled slightly, but I kept my expression emotionless.

"S-sorry," He mumbled, his ears going back.

"No, Tommy! Your fine!" Phil smiled reassuringly. "Wil, why don't you show Tommy his room?" Tommy's expression went from guilt and fear, to pure terror. I knelt down to his level and put out my hand, letting him grab it.

"Breathe, Tommy. We won't hurt you." Wilbur and Philza stared at me, but I ignored them. I assumed Tommy wasn't treated well for being a hybrid, and I knew how it felt.

"T-thanks," He sniffed, breathing steadier. I stood up slowly and led him down the hall, ignoring the stares I knew I was getting from my family.

"Your welcome Bubba."
