9:00 p.m. Jackson Heights. The battle between Ellie Yajima and Letty Disantos has begun as they both launched off the start fast. The Silver Fairlady Z slowed down to stay behind the 350Z to observe its moves. Ellie shifts down and takes the next corner with a drift as Letty performs the same thing. While they were drifting, she closes in slightly to the green Z during the drift and they were pulling out of the drift at the exit in the straightaway. They were performing another drift again on the next corner. Letty is starting to put the pressure on Ellie but she is still trying her best to win by any cost means necessary. "I'm surprised. Her countersteer angle approach has decreased in only half a month. Yes the pronounced countersteer she'd make after her turn in her banshee. It's progressed in a very short time... but it won't change the outcome. I am still winning this." Letty said in her mind as she takes the next corner and observes Ellie countersteering as she realizes her weakness is gone. They were drifting corner and corner but the Fairlady is still behind the 350Z trying to keep up. "She's sticking to me, perfectly!" Ellie said in her mind as she looks at her rearview mirror and notices that Letty is right behind her tail. They were coming in a long straightaway but she brakes in hard onto the next corner when the two of them were drifting over on each other corner. "Seriously? Both cars are slipping through something this tricky? All downhill? A consecutive of corners like these?" A male spectator asked. "Still, it must be tough for the 350Z. Having someone stick to her like that." A female spectator answered. "Yeah, it's common sense in the racing world, that pursuing has a little more of a technical and mental advantage than running." Her son replied. "Sure does. When you're up against Letty Disantos. The pressure she puts on you is nothing to sneer at." The female spectator said. Ellie was starting to feel more pressured as Letty is still staying on her bumper. She grips the corner hard as she tap guardrail and grips it hard on the next corner again to shake the Fairlady Z. "Amazing, she gives me goosebumps. A beginner's racer goes fast on the straightaways. An intermediate masters the corners. But an advanced racer takes the lead on a 3rd point at the straightaway nor corner. Mastering that point was the essential theme of my theory of streets being supremacy. To think I'm in a near perfect example of that theory here. I've been able to keep up with her by mimicking her lines and rhythms but reproducing them by myself would be difficult even for me. This girl is a monster." Letty said in her mind as she was continuing to observer and mimic Ellie's driving style. They were in the straightaway but the Green Z was having trouble shaking her. "It's no use. I can't shake her! She's there! She's still there! Right on my tail!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she was still noticing that Letty is behind her. She performs the gutter run on the next corner but the Fairlady Z was doing the same thing as well. It was still keeping up with the 350Z as the gutter run didn't work. "The gutter trick isn't gonna work. Like I thought, I wasn't ready to win this. I'll lose this battle. I don't want to lose it... but I'm going to." Ellie said in her mind as she was starting to feel the urge of wanting to win but realizes she is going to lose instead. They were about to head into the five hairpins. "They're almost at the five hairpins." A female spectator said. "This heartbreaking battle that wages on the straightaways has been incredible up until now. The 350Z is in the lead!" A male spectator replied. Ellie breathes in as she was feeling stressed and sweaty as she was trying to shake the Fairlady Z. Letty brakes in perfectly at the right time. The 350Z brakes in late but it caused it to lock its brakes. "She screwed up, she's going way too fast." Letty said in her mind as she witnesses Ellie coming into the corner late but it was locked as it was starting to understeer. "Damnit! Turn!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she was trying to turn into the next corner but it was locked as it was starting to understeer. The crowd was gasping as they were seeing the 350Z understeering while it's braking was locked. Letty takes the inside perfectly and passes Ellie. "She could've powered that thing over quicker in a much different car but doing it in a 350Z is much other than reckless. She's a strange one. Even with her advanced technique she's not used to battles. She's surprisingly fragile in the corner, my plan had to been tail her longer and keep my car as closest to my mist. But now that I've taken the lead I'll leave her in the dust and lock in this victory!" Letty said in her mind as she drifts into the corner and Ellie is now behind the Fairlady Z. They were now coming into another straightaway and onto the next corner as they were drifting again. "She stopped gaining on me? I'd figured she'd leave behind all at once but... the speeds aren't that different. In that case, if I can cut it down in this gap even a little, even just by a meter or two. I can get closer to that Silver Z racing ahead of me! But wait... Maybe I should try that move mom was telling me about, the other gutter driving thing." Ellie said in her mind as she was trying to keep up with Letty figures out a different technique she can use to pass Letty. Flashback. 2 years ago. Garage. "You're back, that was quick." Elisa said. "Hey mom, I think I figured out a trick to stop skidding out on the curve in a snowy weather like this. Hook the tires on onto the gutter on that side of the road, makes driving so easy it's not even funny." Ellie replied. "Gutter driving? I used that technique a lot by myself." Elisa wondered. "Well, damnit. You know about it too?" Ellie asked. "Listen up, there are two ways to use the gutter's on Jackson Heights' roads. The method you stumbled onto is to use the gutter as you enter the corners so you can prevent understeering. But, there is another one and this one emphasizes recovery after a corner. The timing you used for getting in and out of the gutter is different. It's actually a pretty tough deal, best for you to figure it out yourself." Elisa answered as she walked back inside the garage. Transitions to present. "I'm getting closer, I'm gaining on her! I'm close, I'm faster!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as they were on the straightaway heading into the next corner. Letty's tires were starting to wear out as she was starting to slip and lose control. "My front tire grip! Are they overheating right at the end?? Still, even if my tires are losing some of their grip, my technique is as good as ever! No matter what, I win!" Letty exclaimed. "Screw it. Here it goes!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she takes the inside during the corner's exit method. She was now keeping up with Letty and catching up to her. "Huh? What the hell did she just pull off??" Letty wondered. Ellie performs the gutter run method again and is staying close onto the Fairlady Z's bumper. "I gotta know what she just did." Letty said in her mind. They were now heading into the final section. "Almost time, from the sound of that squealing they're both neck and neck. Just exactly as we predicted." Jenna said. "The goal's very close now. If someone's gotta do or die trick pull, It'll have to be here. A straightaway is needed for speed after a battle of the brakes. It's the only 3 lane corner on the normally narrow mountain roads. It gives a lot of freedom of where you could pick your line and in soon after that, those two overlapping are corners. Whoever has the lead coming out of those corners will win the race hands down." Brittney answered. "Here they come!" Jenna replied. Ellie and Letty were coming into the final corner. "Oh yeah! The 350Z is snapping at her ass!" Jenna exclaimed. "So now what?? How do you attack??" Brittney wondered. Ellie takes the outside as she uses it to attack Letty. "The outside!" Brittney exclaimed. "She'll never pass on the outside! Inside is the shortest distance! It's an absolute advantage!" Jenna replied as she sees the 350Z is neck to neck with the Fairlady Z. Ellie and Letty braked into the corner as they shifted down and drifted during the final moments. However, the Fairlady Z was starting to slip as it was about to give the 350Z the inside. "The Fairlady is fishtailing! It's stalling out! It can't grip!" Jenna exclaimed. "What the!" Brittney replied as she sees Letty slipping to the outside but Ellie is about to take the inside and take the lead as the 350Z was about to win the race for good. "It's broken through!" Brittney exclaimed. The Z passes Letty as she lets off the gas and slows down to relive herself. A few minutes later. City Core. They were parked at the Stadium area. "So um... there's been something I've been wanting to ask you if you don't mind and it's gonna bug me if I don't. I just don't get why you waited for me to take charge tonight you didn't have to do that." Ellie wondered. "Oh, so you think I slowed down during the last half of the race on purpose huh? That's not how it happened at all, I hate to tell you." Letty answered. "Then what did happen?" Ellie asked. "You must've picked your pace up a notch. I've tried my best not to slow down but my front tires kept backing up. Don't know why, didn't expect it." Letty answered. "Your tires?" Ellie asked. "Don't worry, I'm not using them as an excuse. Conditions were the same for both of us and I was clearly the loser." Letty answered as she was about to get into her Fairlady but Ellie interrupted her. "Teacher... I want you to know that I don't think I'm, well that I'm like a faster driver than you are or anything." Ellie replied. "You really are a weird kid you know, I've never met anyone like you before. You shouldn't be contend with winning on such a small stage like this, there is a much bigger world out there. You were a fast driver tonight Ellie Yajima, I'll see you around." Letty said as she gets in her car and drives off. Ellie seems to understand that there is a big world out there with a lot of racers that come for a challenge. Moments later. She was at the garage in her bed as she lies down and takes a sigh. "There's a bigger world out there. Faster cars, drivers and difficult battles coming up. I don't know if I'm capable enough to beat those guys that will become faster than I am but I am gonna have to try." Ellie said in her mind as she gripped her fist and looked at it while lying down on her bed. She puts it down and goes to sleep. 2 weeks later. Jackson Heights. The race between Brittney Setsuna and Zoey Chang is about to begin. The 3000GT reverses to the starting line next Eclipse as Brittney stops and gets out of her car. "This'll be a one race match. We'll decide the thing by a hillclimb." Casey suggested. "Sounds good." Brittney answered. "Let's go. You ready to kick this thing off Zoey?" Casey asked. "Yeah, let's do this." Zoey answered as Brittney gets in her car and the race is about to start. "Don't mess this thing up Britt, show their punk asses the power of the Bayview Drivers. Just for tonight, I'm gonna be pulling for you." Jenna said in her mind. "Our goal is bigger than this race. So don't waste time screwing around with this guy Zoey. Hit it and quit it." Casey said in her mind. "5 seconds to start! 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!!" The starter exclaimed as he starts the countdown and the cars launched off the start fast. Brittney had the faster start than the Eclipse GSX. She accelerates hard, and shifts down as she turns into the corner and grips it. The 3000GT is now in the lead as it grips through the corners but Zoey is following its tail. "Wait and see pal, comparing an Eclipse to a 3000GT is like a kids toy and I'll show you the difference between the two!" Zoey exclaimed. "Alright you blizzard losers or whatever you call yourselves. I'm here to defend Bayview tonight and before I'm done, you're gonna find yourselves buried deep at the bottom of the mountain valley!" Brittney exclaimed in her mind. The race between them is now a raging battle between Mitsubishi's make and model competitors. Meanwhile. Garage. Ellie was fixing her Z33 as she was tweaking it and changing the car's oil. "You setting her up for a while?" I asked. "Nah, I'm just giving it an oil change. Hand me that wrench on the toolbox for me." Ellie answered. "Sure." I replied as I grabbed the wrench from the tool box and handed it to Ellie scoots her skateboard up to get it. Then she scoots back in to tighten the oil plug and scoots the board back up. "You want a drink?" I asked as I showed the water bottle to Ellie after she got up from the skateboard. "Sure, thanks." Ellie answered as she takes the water bottle and took a sip from it as she was regenerating her strength after working on the Z33. "You okay?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm a bit exhausted from working on her all day. I'm just trying to figure out the best settings or what to do with the new setup that was made after beating Chey on the pass." Ellie answered. "Did you hear about a new group of drivers coming to take us on a new pass?" I asked. "No, I haven't. Why is that?" Ellie asked. "They're coming to the pass to take us on next I suppose. I'm not sure but that's what I'm guessing." I answered. "Well, we'll be ready for them." Ellie replied. Jackson Heights. The battle between Zoey and Brittney is still raging as the race goes on and on. The 3000GT is still in the lead. "I can't lose this race. Certainly not to any punks that blast into our turf with their bad attitudes." Brittney said in her mind as she was still focusing on trying to win and hold the lead. "Time to knock this girl out." Zoey said as she shifts down and slips into the inside as Brittney was slipping to the outside. "What??" Brittney said as she was passed by the Eclipse and the 3000GT is now behind it. They were coming into a straightaway past a few spectators as they were surprised that Zoey passed Brittney. "Crazy dude! She blew past Brittney like it was nothing!" A female spectator exclaimed. "Badass! That girl's a beast!" A male spectator exclaimed. "The Eclipse blew past Brittney's 3000GT and is pulling away fast!" The spectator called. "What? How did that happen?" The girl asked. "Wonder what desperate thoughts in the small brain of that guy." Jenna answered as she looks suspiciously at Casey. "Sure she's in a Eclipse but she jumped in front of a skilled touge driver. That's the worst position you could be in. Is it real confidence? Or is the girl just as dumb as I think she is?" Jenna wondered in her mind. They were coming up to the next corner but Brittney is now trying to catch up to Zoey. "You better not think this is over yet!" Brittney exclaimed as she shifts down and brakes in as she grips the next corner while Zoey is power sliding. Garage. "Hey Jill? You in there?" Adena called. "I'm here. Come on in." Jill answered as she was sitting in her room working on her laptop. "The Mitsubishi team. They're racing tonight on Jackson Heights, I just heard it from a friend." Adena replied. "Against Brittney of the shine stars right?" Jill asked. "Yeah, I suppose so. Who's your best guest? Anybody riding to the top? Because for me this has gotta be the first time I'm hoping Brittney actually win and that Lan Evo's big ass spoiler's enough to make me wanna throw up in my own mouth." Adena answered. "Brittney's power relies in her boldness. Her offensive driving strategy. The things that make you dislike her so much in the first place. When she's on, the girl is quite fast. But under pressure, she tends to crack like drawing mud. I just hope she was able to recover from the loss she suffered when she went up against you. Cause if she wasn't, it could really be a bad night." Jill replied. They were still going at it with each other but Brittney is not giving up just yet. "I can't believe this happening, but we still got a long way to go before the finish line. If I don't stop these guys... then who the hell else is gonna be able to!!" Brittney exclaimed as she accelerates hard. She shifts down and takes the next corner but instead she understeered into the guardrail as she tries to turn out but instead, was stuck as it was scraping her car causing it to take some damage. However she pulled out and it stopped. "Ugh DAMNIT!!!!" Brittney exclaimed as she punched the steering wheel and she lost the race. A few minutes later. Starting point. "Now you hand over your team's sticker, that's the deal." Casey suggested as Zoey takes out her pocket knife and cuts the Shine Star's team sticker and puts it on her Eclipse's spoiler. "Haha in no time, my entire spoiler is gonna be plastered with the slashed up stickers from every team in the region that I've chewed up and spit out." Zoey laughed. "Don't start planning out your parade yet you prick! There are more racers in Bayview than you know what to do with!" Jenna exclaimed. "That sounds to me like the cry of a guy who's already a loser." Zoey replied as Jenna starts to become more furious and angry. "Heh, let's get outta here." Casey chuckled. "Yeah. One more thing. From now on whenever you see a car with a Team Plus Size sticker on it, I want you to pull over to the side of the road." Zoey suggested as she and Casey got back into their cars and drove off as they were leaving the mountain pass. "Britt, I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact she was faster than you on a uphill battle." Jenna said as Brittney was still feeling more frustrated. The next day. Garage. "Upgrading the 350Z huh? That came out of nowhere, so what are you getting at?" Elisa asked. "Come on, it had to have crossed your mind at some point Elisa. Ellie's evolving into a much better racer than she used to be. Just seems like it's time to upgrade. You know, try to bring the Z's capabilities up to the same level as the kids. But hey, don't get me wrong. I'm not telling you what to do, I certainly know better than that. Just curious as to what your plans are." Cami suggested. "I guess. Uh, this engine is getting a little run down. Isn't it? Maybe it is about time to finally give the old gal an overall." Elisa answered. "Yeah." Cami replied. "Actually, I've kind of already got one." Elisa said. "Huh? You screwing around with me my friend?" Cami asked as she was surprised. "No, but I just happened to bought the most incredible little thing from the most unlikely source." Elisa answered. "What's incredible?" Cami asked. "Alright, I'll show you. Just get in the car. You won't believe your eyes." Elisa answered as she and Cami got in the 350Z. Some time later. 5:30 p.m. Ellie just came back to the garage after taking the bus from Letty's racing school. She looks back at the 350Z. "A more powerful engine..." Ellie said in her mind as she walks up to the driver's side of the car and opens the door as she pulls the hood switch from it that causes it to open up. She gets back out and closes the door as she walks up to the front of the car opening it's hood as well as looking at the engine. Ellie gave a sigh and closed the car's hood. "I wouldn't even know where to start." Ellie said. April was pulling up to the garage as she parks her car outside and gets out of the car. "Ellie." April greeted. "Hey April, you look kinda worried. What's going on?" Ellie asked. "You didn't hear? They're coming to Jackson Heights. Tonight." April answered. A few hours later. Jackson Heights. 8:30 p.m. The Team Plus Size were driving up to the downhill start as it made the crowd become surprised and wild. "That Red Eclipse in front must be the one that beat Brittney in this pass and beat her pretty bad too. All I've heard of her is that she's ridiculously fast." Cami said as she and April were looking at the Red Eclipse. "So you're Bayview's Racing Team? I'm Casey Kasanova, the team leader of Team Plus Size. I'm sure you already know this, but we only have one demand. We just wanna race your 350Z on the downhill. That's it." Casey greeted as April nodded. "We'll accept whatever stipulations you wanna place on this thing. Any number of races. Any kind and in any conditions. But if you fail to win even one race, just one. Then you peel off your team's sticker and hand it over. Got that?" Casey asked. "Our sticker?" April asked. "What are they gonna do with the sticker?" The female asked. "Weird yeah." Cami answered. "But who cares? They won't win." The male replied. "We accept the challenge." April said. "What do you say we stop blabbing our jaws and jump right into this race. It's not every hour in the world waits on us. The first race will be the main downhill, got it? So get your 350Z ready." Casey suggested. "Who is it you got racing from your team?" April asked. "That'd be me and I'll be driving my Eclipse GSX." Zoey answered as she gets in her car. "Okay girl, they said they were ready to go for more than just one race with us. So when Ellie is done. Which one of us will be up next?" Cami asked. "If Ellie loses, then I'll race next. But if she can beat Ellie then I sure as hell won't be able to do any damage out there. But there's just no way we'll be able to accept defeat without a fight." April answered. "Then after you get your ass kicked, it's my turn." Cami suggested. "Mhm." April replied. "I think we've been leaning on Ellie a little too much lately. We need to show her that we're capable of doing this as much as she is." Cami said. "Yeah." April replied as they gave each other a high five. She walks up to Ellie's 350Z to wish her luck. "I'm counting on you. You're the lead off girl." April said as Ellie gave her a nod. "Got it." Ellie answered. "Go get em!" April replied as the 350Z drives off and heads to the starting point. She brakes and turns as she stops and turns again to perform a u-turn. "Listen Zoey, be careful. I want you to approach this race with Simulation 3." Casey suggested. "Come on, girl, you can't be serious. Simulation 3 against a Z33? That's overkill." Zoey answered. "No girl, I'm serious. Do it." Casey replied. "I felt this kid's energy. This 350Z is the real deal. She's not faking it. She's got something that allowed her to beat Letty. Doing what the hell that something is, we can't let our guard down." Casey said in her mind. "I'll go ahead and start the countdown." Cami said as she was about to start the countdown but was interrupted by Casey. "Hold up, no need for that. This is just a regular race. No kind of time trial here. We let the car with less engine power start whenever she feels like and let the other car can start after that. Sure it might not be what you're used to, but it's a fair way to roll off. The leaves will start and late but we don't mind. It's a handicap we're used to for having horsepower we got. It might not be common around here but we call it the handicap method how about it that work for you?" Casey asked. "Works for me if you're cool with it Ellie." April suggested as Ellie gave her a nod. Zoey was looking suspiciously at her and her Z33. "I remember her now, that's the kid we saw at Market Street. Never occurred to me that a punk like her can be the driver of the 350Z everyone's talking of. Casey's developed 3 strategies to win on an opponent's course. Simulation 3 is only used on the toughest drivers. So why the hell does she have me busting it out against this Z. What a waste." Zoey said in her mind. Ellie looks at her and looks at the road ahead as she shifts up and launched off the start fast as the first driver. The Eclipse launches next and the 350Z is in the lead. They were starting off smooth as the Z was in front . "I'm not just gonna show you how killer the Eclipse GSX is. You're gonna how great I am!" Zoey exclaimed. Ellie shifts down on the next corner as she performs a drift and Zoey was power sliding as well. The battle commences as the race has only begun.
