3 weeks later. After the race between Ellie Yajima and Casey Kasanova and the race between the Bayview Racing Team & Team Plus Size. The 350Z was resurrected with a new engine that Elisa swapped. It was also equipped with a bucket seat and auxiliary gauges. 9:50 p.m. Garage. "Jill, I've been meaning to talk to you about this for a while. Well it's about the homepage we set up, don't you think maybe it's just a little too provocative?" Adena asked as Jill stopped typing on her computer and looked at her. "No, it's fine. That's just the way we want it to be. It's important we proceed as the bad guys. We want to be hated by the people that pre challenging." Jill answered. "But if we do that then-." Adena replied as Jill cuts her off. "Yes. Our opponents will get worked up and go at us with everything that they've got. The tougher they are, the better it will be for us. If our back's not against the wall, then the battle will not be a hard one and then there's no point to it. You know that winning battles and setting new course records is some of the Bayview Racing Team's objectives but that's not all this team is about. From the very moment I started this whole thing, I've had a very different purpose in mind for it. There's another meaning to it, hidden within the B in our name. Something that no one else knows about but me." Jill explained. "Hey, hold on a second girl. Why don't you ever talk to me about any of this?" Adena asked. "It's nothing personal. Don't take it that way. I haven't explained it to anyone yet and I don't plan to for a while." Jill answered. "Quit being so secretive Jill. Come on, tell me what's up. What does the "B" stand for in our team's name?" Adena asked. "You'll find out eventually Adena like everyone." Jill answered. "Yeah, but when will eventually be?" Adena asked. "Around the time the Project is complete." Jill answered. We were driving up to the mountain and heading into the parking area. "They said they would withdrawal the local cars. I dunno why, but it's like the course is rutted out to us." Adena said. "It might seem like that. But we still have regular traffic to worry about, don't we?" I asked. "No, the road's still under construction so it won't be open to regular traffic for a while. Apparently we should be free and clear. The only cars and the whole mountain should be ours and their's." Adena answered. "Under construction?" Ellie wondered. "So that's why. When I saw it on video tape, it was an amazing course. They're a whole lot of shift points and elevation and the road winds around quite a bit. It might be freshly paved and wide enough to do this but there are plenty of fallen rocks scattered around. It doesn't matter how you look at it, you couldn't say this road has a clean surface." I replied. A flashback shows a video of what the course looks like but apparently there are rocks scattered on the road. A few minutes later. Ellie was looking at her Z33 and Chloe walked up to me as I didn't notice that she was with us. "Branden." Chloe greeted. "Oh, you. What are you doing here? I thought you were back at home." I greeted. "You didn't even notice I came along? But, I'm the driver for van 2 this time. I thought at least you would know who you're working with. Look Branden, once you're done gearing up your car. Can you please take me for 1 ride shotgun? Just 1 I really need it. I wanna learn more by watching your driving technique up close. I really think it'll help." Chloe asked as she looked at April talking to Ellie and back at me. "I don't know kid. Doubt we'll have enough time before this whole song and dance gears up. This race is really gonna be tricky, I need to concentrate." I answered. "Are you worried about it?" Chloe asked. "Chloe, open your eyes. Haven't you noticed anything?" I suggested as I pointed my finger up to show the drivers that are a distance from us and Chloe looked at her as she was in shock. "Alright, we're all set. Looks like you're ready to roll Branden." Cami said. "Cool." I replied as I got in my R34 and left the parking area fast as I was about to be prepared for my practice run. "We should go too." April suggested. "Okay." Ellie replied as she took off her jacket. I was on the road as I was coming up to a section of rocks on the side of the road and I dodged it as I was continuing my run. Ellie was now beginning her downhill run and April was typing on the computer for the car's settings. Yajima shifts down as she performs a drift and clears the next corner. Parking area. "They're so laid back, it's starting to creep me out. This whole thing is about letting us have Kitt run the course. It's like they're not even concerned. Even I'm beginning to start to feel the pressure building up against us. I wanna know how these Advan people drive." Adena said. "You should have a pretty good idea of how they drive by Casey Kasanova of the Team Plus Size used to be one of them. Their whole team is start talking bets. Just like him." Jill replied. "It's a bunch of guys just like Casey? Look we don't have to do this Jill. I mean the Bayview Racing Team doesn't exactly have enough races under its belt yet. Maybe we should put this one on hold and race them later." Adena suggested. "No, if we can be defeated like a team like this. Then there's not a chance we'll survive these future battles. We'll figure out our true worth here on this run in this battle. By the end, it'll crush the Advan Racing School to the asphalt." Jill answered. A few runs later. We were driving into the parking area as we parked our cars. After that, we got out of the cars. "Oil pressure's stable. How are the tires working out there?" Cami asked. "They're holding tight to the road. I can really let her out. I'm gonna take five then I'll run the course 2 or 3 more times with these settings. After that, I'm done." I answered. "Sure." Cami replied. "You know this road twists and turns like a grapevine. A downhill is gonna be one intense ride." I said as I looked back at the Z33. "I changed the brake pads you had the more durable ones. It'll cost you a bit of control of your's so keep that in mind. I don't want you slipping out there, okay?" April asked. "Thanks, April. Time to what this course has to offer." Ellie answered. "Bring her back after about 5 runs and when I check on those pads and make sure they're not getting sticky on you." April suggested. "Okay." Ellie replied as she reversed out of the parking area and drives off back to the course to continue her practice run. "Jill looks different. So does everyone else. What is this feeling that's hanging over everything. I've never felt anything like this during the Bayview's expedition battles. It's like something amazing is about to happen here. I'm getting nervous. I almost want to run away. I wonder if the first step to being a driver for the Bayview Racing Team is being able to withstand this kind of tension." Chloe said in her mind. I shifted up as I was continuing my practice run. The next day. 6:30 p.m. Parking Area. "Finally, it looks like the sun is setting. I slept like hell last night. The day felt like it lasted a year. I wonder why the atmosphere around here is so stifling. I guess maybe it's because I didn't see any of the local drivers on that course last night. Not one time. It's like they didn't care. If I was not being able to see what my opponent's being made of." Adena explained. "We haven't been able to dig up any data on them." April answered. "Yeah exactly. They haven't bothered to check up on how we drive neither. It gives me a bad feeling about this. Who knows? Maybe I'm thinking too much. At any rate, it just shows how much confidence they have in themselves. Not even back in my days with the Olympic City did anyone seem to blow us off as much as these guys are doing right now." Adena replied. "You know, Adena. You can get bent out of shape if you want but that kind of stuff never bothered me. Before I joined this team, I drove against a bunch of different people and they always treat me exactly like this. I'm used to it. I concentrate better when I don't know my opponent. I like it when it's a stranger in the other car. Push all of the unnecessary thoughts in your head and just focus on driving as fast as you can on the road in front of you. I'm having a lot of fun. I can't help it." Ellie explained. "Are you serious?" Adena asked. "I don't know any other way to explain it. I just can't think of anything I like more. There's nothing better." Ellie answered. "I see. Put it like that, and I guess that's the way you've always raced." Adena replied. "Good point." April said. "Amazing. I can't believe you can relax and enjoy the situation as much as she is. Yajima is at a level totally different from Jill or Branden. Bayview's Z33. Ellie Yajima. And now that we're both here. There's no point in stirring up any trouble. I think the best thing we can do is to stand behind the downhill driver that Jill's chosen." Adena said in her mind as she looked at Ellie taking a sip of her bottle of water and looking at the sky. 4 Hours later. 10:30 p.m. the drivers were heading into the downhill start as Kaliyanie was with her crew. Ellie was coming up with a support van behind her and she gets out of the car. "I'm Ellie Yajima." Ellie greeted. "I'm Kaliyanie Kawasaki." Kaliyanie greeted. "She's so young. This is Bayview's downhill racer?" Kaliyanie wondered. "We want to run the race in a leader or chaser fashion if it's alright by you but it's your track so you guys can pick your position for the first run." Adena suggested. "You think that through? We've already gotten the advantage of being the home team here." Kaliyanie asked. "Yeah, but this is how we prefer to do things when we're the away team." Adena answered. "You guys are pretty confident are you. If that's what you want, then I will be the one chasing. Switch up on the 2nd run." Kaliyanie replied. "Good. Then we should go ahead and start the race." Adena said as she walked back to her crew. "Are you sure you're okay being the chaser? You just finish the race all that sooner if you took the leader's spot." The male spectator asked. "You may be right, but something has been nagging at me. You get it, right? This girl's not gonna be as an easy opponent as we thought." Kaliyanie answered as she and the spectator were looking at Ellie. Her green aura was showing around her and the Z33. Parking area. "So they're gonna be chasing for the first run? Alright, could you hand the phone over to Ellie." Jill asked. "Yajima. It's Jill." Adena answered as she gave the cellphone to Ellie. "What's up?" Ellie asked. "Ellie, it's important that you listen. I have 2 basic instructions for you." Jill answered. A few minutes later after the conversation. "Okay...... okay... sure I understand." Ellie replied as she hung up and gave the cellphone to Adena. "We're counting on you girl." Adena said. "Hope I can do it. This girl's an incredible driver. I can sense it. It's like I can see how fast she is... she's amazing." Ellie replied as she looked at Kaliyanie and her red aura was showing around her. They got in their cars as the race was about to begin. Ellie is leading and Kaliyanie will be chasing. "You both start off slow and after the first corner, you can kick it into full speed and give it all she's got. The Z33 is starting off first, so you just have to stay behind it." Adena explained. "I got it." Kaliyanie replied as she closed her window and Ellie walks back to clear the starting area. "That Z33's driver seems like she's got more to give than I was giving her credit for. There's only one reason I chose to be the chaser for the first run. I have to know. Why does she drive a Z33. I mean what can she possibly do in a scrap heap like that? Show me what you've got... here we go, let's do this!" Kaliyanie exclaimed. "Hey, can you hear me? Yeah they're about start." Adena called. "It's time to find out what Bayview is really made of." Jill said in her mind. The race between Ellie and Kaliyanie as about to begin.
