the past week was fun. reason being?

atsumu was late to thursday practice because he didn't believe you the second time.

"it's thursday."

"i'm not falling for that again sunshine." he was walking with his hands in his pockets and was next to you as you guys walked down the stairs.

"no seriously it is." you told him. "see." you took your phone out to show him the day. atsumu leaned into you to take a look at your phone, but shook his head after he read the day.

"you changed the date." he kept denying it.

"fine, don't come to me when kita makes you run extra laps." you turned your phone off and noticed a tall figure coming towards you guys.

"what are you doing here?" aran hissed and smacked the back of atsumu's head. atsumu whined and raised his hand to the back of his head to soothe the pain.

"i tried telling you." you raised your hands and walked off to the other gym where the girls had their practice.

"what do you mean?" atsumu ducked down to avoid another smack on the head.

"practice started fifteen minutes ago." aran scolded and atsumu's eyes widened. he turned back around to look at your retreating back. "hurry up." he then rushed off to the gym where he would definitely have to run laps later.

you made your way to practice and when it was your water break you went outside and sat down on the steps. you were drinking out of your water bottle when you saw atsumu coming closer to you.

"what a surprise." you greeted when atsumu ran past you, breathing heavily and sweating. he stopped and started running backwards so he was next to you.

"why didn't you tell me?" he leaned forward and placed his hands on his knees while breathing in and out.

"i did." you blinked up at him. "a lot. i actually did something nice for you once and you didn't believe me. should start believing me more."

"you've given me trust issues." he huffed.

"i thought you said you were smart. shouldn't you have remembered that since it was wednesday yesterday then today would be thursday?"

"that hurts my brain." he shook his head and started jogging forwards.

"that would only work if you had one in the first place!" you called after him and he stuck his middle finger back at you.

after practice, he refused to talk to you on the walk home. not that you were complaining. he kept complaining that his legs were sore though. he was talking for to himself than to you.

"yours." he snapped, the first direct word he said to you on the walk. you stopped walking to stay behind him and step on his shoe from the back.

"i told you at least three times it was thursday. did you believe me? no. so therefore, it was your fault." you corrected and glared up at him while he glared down at you. it seemed like you guys did more glaring than talking.

"tsumu just admit you're wrong and stupid." osamu said without looking up from his phone. "we all know it's true except you."

"no." he stubbornly. "cause i'm not."

"no." you mocked him making him lean over and pinch your cheek. you slapped his hand away and he continued to pinch your face.

you slapped the spot between his shoulder and neck, making him jump back in surprise. "not there." he said and protectively covered the spot.

"is that your weak spot?" you asked.

he hesitated. "no."

"you hesitated." you pointed out and watched as he looked away from you.

"no i didn't." he said and walked ahead. you caught up to him within a second. "your brain must be thinking things. wait, you'd need a brain for that."

"you're struggling with your words." you said and patted his shoulder. "and you're copying my words from earlier."

"thanks for stating the obvious." he leaned against the gate in front of your house and watched your hands as you unlocked it.

"y/n!" your grandma opened the door for you once again. "oh , hello atsumu!" to your horror, your grandma had grown a liking to atsumu after he came over for dinner that one day.

"hello." he waved at her. he's got your grandma complete wrapped around his finger. "just accompanying your wonderful granddaughter home safely."

you gave him a weird look and opened the gate. "are you okay?" you asked and pressed the back of your hand against his forehead.

he took your hand off his forehead and moved it down to his mouth. he kissed it which made you freeze and stare at him in concern.

"okay, now i'm scared." you told him and pulled your hand back, wiping the back of it on his shirt.

"aw." your grandma cooed. "atsumu dear, do you want to come inside? you can stay for dinner again."

"no thank you." he turned down the offer sweetly in a tone you've never heard him use before. "my mom is expecting a family dinner tonight."

"goodbye." you closed the gate again and walked into the house.

"goodnight sunshine!" he exclaimed from behind you and waved again. "wow, those two words really don't match."

"he's a sweet boy." your grandma said and you looked at her in horror.

"only to you." you shivered at the thought of him being sweet and slipped your shoes off.

"did you see the way he kissed your hand? like in the movies. completely adorable!" she followed you as you went to your bedroom.

"sure thing." you nodded and searched your dresser for clothes. "i'm gonna take a shower and sanitize my hand."

"what if you two end up catching feelings for each other?" your grandma sighed and started fantasizing you and atsumu being together and going on cute dates.

"that's one of our rules, no feelings." you informed her. "i don't plan on breaking that rule nor do i want to."

"oh honey, no one listens to the rules." she scoffed and sat down on your bed while smoothing out her dress.

"this is a set of rules i actually want to follow." you couldn't imagine kissing atsumu in a thousand years.

"whatever you say, also your aunt called again." she said and you tensed up.

"i'm not moving to tokyo." you told your grandma, your tone leaving no room for argument.

"and i'm not forcing you to." she calmly replied. "i like having you here."

"and I like being here." you replied before going into the bathroom. you always ended up running away from that conversation.

it wasn't that you didn't like your aunt. you loved her actually and you knew that she wanted the best for you. but you couldn't leave your grandma and you knew she was going to leave this house.

your parents were always off on business trips overseas and were rarely home. she took on the role of taking care of you when you were young so your parents could go out and earn money.

your grandpa had died before you were born and you only ever knew him through the many stories your grandma told you. so, if she wasn't leaving here, you weren't either.

this was your home and always would be.
