you were in the state of shock at the moment
if atsumu didn't have an arm behind your back, you were sure that you would've fallen from shock. his other hand was on your arm and his mouth was moving against yours.
how does one even kiss someone back?
atsumu pulled back and took five steps back. you were still frozen in the same place and he stared at you. "i'm sorry. i should've asked. uh, i'll leave if you want. yeah okay. see you."
you reached forward and grabbed his wrist, pulling him back. he looked down at you unsure of what to do next. your eyes traveled up from his shoes to his eyes. "do it again." you could barely hear your own words, but atsumu heard it loud and clear.
he ducked his head and pressed his lips back against yours. your hands were on his chest while one of his hands were on the back of your neck and the other was supporting you up. weak knees and your foot in a brace was a bit complicated.
not to mention that he wasn't gentle with you either. the grip on the back of your neck was solid enough to make you not move unless he moved. he slowly took a few steps back until your back was met with the wall.
"rule two, broken." atsumu whispered and pulled back
you didn't answer to that. it was safe to say that two out of the three rules were broken, but you didn't say it. you let that settle in your mind for a bit before atsumu tilted your head up to meet his eyes.
"good?"
"good." you nodded and he dropped his hand from the back of your neck, only keeping the one that was on your waist.
"um." atsumu started to say, but didn't finish his sentence. "i bought that for you and to see how weird you could walk." he directed his chin over at the teddy bear.
"so you didn't come over to take your payment for the piggyback rides?" you asked, laying your palm on his chest. you were staring at the difference between the size of your hand and the muscle on his chest.
"it wasn't planned." he confessed and brushed the pad of his thumb over your bottom lip. "now go sit down before you fall and have to take another trip to the hospital."
"jeez, how demanding." you rolled your eyes playfully, but sat down anyway. you picked up the teddy bear and placed it down on your lap. you looked up at him, silently asking if he wanted to sit down.
"i have to go home." he read your expression, his tone disappointed. "i have to miss your grandma's cooking." he sounded more disappointed about the cooking than leaving you.
"how sad. I'll make sure to talk all about it tomorrow. super delicious food."
"yeah, you do that. i'll tell your grandma you're being mean to me." atsumu flicked your forehead in response.
"what a tattletale." you tried to kick him, but he already knew what you were doing. he blocked your uninjured foot with his and shoved yours down.
"have fun going up and down stairs!" he called before leaving. "don't fall again! i can't be your prince charming everyday, sunshine!"
you rolled your eyes at his statement and laid down on your bed, staring at the ceiling. atsumu almost missed the last step on his way down the stairs.
"i don't think i want both of you with foot issues." your grandma noticed his misstep when he was on the floor.
"didn't see it." he said sheepishly. "must've missed it or something."
"what's with your happy little smile?" she asked with her own small smile.
"nothing, just remembered something." he wasn't lying. he was thinking back to about five minutes ago when he had you against the wall with his mouth on yours.
"how was your day?" she questioned like any normal grandmother would, catching atsumu off guard.
"it was great."
"how was talking to y/n?"
"it was wonderful."
"how was the kiss?"
"amazing." he waited for the next question, but it didn't come.
then he realized.
"wait."
"too late to wait now." your grandma smiled and clapped her hands together. "thank goodness you told me right away and not like my granddaughter who takes a whole free dessert, sacrifice, and extra sleep before telling me."
"sounds like her." atsumu smiled at the sentence and looked at her. "so you're not mad i kissed her?"
"of course not! i've been waiting for his moment." she rubbed her hands together. "her father might question you and give you that whole dad talk, but he's in a whole other country."
"other country?"
"business, her mother too. they'll be back in time for her break though. so they get to spend time together. she's cherishes those moments together."
"that sounds nice." atsumu replied. he never asked you where your parents were and never wanted to impose by asking.
"well, you get on home safely now, tell your parents i said hello too." your grandma patted atsumu on the back. "don't miss another step on the way out."
"okay, goodnight!" he exclaimed with a small blush and got out of the house, closing the door behind him. before he could get past the gate he felt something hit his head.
he turned around and saw a piece of paper crumbled up into a ball on the ground. then he looked up and saw that your window was open.
"goodnight!" you called out before closing your window.
he bent down and picked up the piece of paper. he opened it while walking back to his house. it was hangman.
atsumu: hangman really?
y/n: yup
atsumu: any clue of where to start off?
y/n: nope
atsumu: wow how helpful
atsumu reached his house and went inside. osamu was in the kitchen meaning their room was empty. he pressed the call button on your contact and you picked up on the third ring.
"miss my voice that much?" you teased.
"you wish." he sat down on his bed, leaning over to his bedside table to grab a pen. "a?" he asked right away, expecting you to know what he was talking about.
"nope." he drew a circle for the head of the person.
"b?"
"it's not fun when you guess in order." you complained and he sighed. "you're gonna ruin the excitement and suspense."
"z?"
"nope." a stick for the body next.
"is it something i know?" he tried to collect some hints for himself because he was beyond clueless now.
"yes."
"something i like?"
"well i hope you will."
"okay. five words." he said to himself before guessing another letter. "e."
"can you show me your paper because i don't know where it's placed." atsumu sent you a picture of the paper and you looked at it.
"there's three."
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ee _ _ _ _ e _
"we're gonna be here all night." atsumu looked at her remaining empty spaces he had left. not that he minded being on the phone with you all night. two months ago maybe, but now he was ecstatic for it.
"better start guessing then pretty boy."
"as you wish sunshine."
