you, atsumu, and osamu were standing in a line next to each other while the miya parents were across from you guys, talking amongst themselves. "i still don't understand why i'm here." you whispered to atsumu.

he leaned closer to you so he could hear you better. "i told you my mom wanted to meet you." atsumu whispered back.

"and she met me, can i go now?" you didn't want to be rude and just leave, so this was the next best option.

"no. stay." he tugged on your hand, pulling you a bit closer to him. he kept a hold on your hand as if you were going to run off at any second.

"but you have your jacket back."

"but i want you to stay." you didn't think you'd ever hear those words come out of his mouth. especially not directed towards you.

"but i don't want to stay."

"but i won't let you out of this house."

"but i can walk right out the door."

"but i can hug you and keep you here because my mom actually thinks i like you." that sounded the least appealing out of everything he had said.

osamu leaned in closer to you to join in the conversation. "you know he caved and ended up telling me about your stupid plan?" your eyes flew to atsumu and he looked utterly betrayed at his twin exposing him.

"you said you wouldn't tell her!" atsumu gaped and reached over to smack osamu on the back of his head.

"you two act like an actually couple, by the way." osamu commented before returning to his spot next to you.

"ew, don't be gross." you both said simultaneously. osamu just gave you both weird look and sat down on the couch.

"that just proved my point." osamu placed his feet up on the table and left you and atsumu alone. you leaned against the couch next to atsumu and he did the same.

"i don't wanna walk home alone at night." you told atsumu and looked up at him. he glanced over at you before he looked out the window where it was dark outside.

"i'll walk you." he replied and kept an eye on the container of cookies on the counter.

"fine." you weren't completely upset with that idea. a few weeks ago you would rather walk ten miles alone than walk with him.

now it was okay

"atsumu, i don't understand why you used to come home complaining about how annoying she was." his mom tsked when she returned from the conversation she was having with their father.

"she was annoying, still is."

"but according to him, i'm annoying in a tolerable way." you remembered his words from the other day. that was a huge upgrade in your book.

"how cute. oh! you can call me mieko." she smiled. "i invited you and your grandmother over to dinner tomorrow night, i don't know if she told you that yet."

"no, she didn't." you said, glancing back at atsumu who was already looking over at you. "do you want me to bring anything? i can bring anything or me and my grandma can cook something."

"i think your grandma was talking about bringing dessert over." mieko answered. "so, don't worry about it. just show up and we'll be happy!"

you nodded and gave her a smile before returning to atsumu. he raised his arm and you narrowed your eyes at him. obviously, that arm was for you to slide under.

"we're not at school."

"and? my parents still think we're dating or talking or like each other." you took one huge step and leaned against his side while his arm was around you once again.
