"i'm taking y/n home!" atsumu announced and grabbed his jacket that you originally came here to give him.

"okay!" his parents called out from where they were watching a film on the tv. it seemed entertaining enough because you had your eyes glued to the screen until atsumu's chest covered it.

"here, wear this." he opened up the jacket for you to wear. you slipped your arms through the sleeves and let them fall over your hands. atsumu wrapped his arms around you to let the jacket close and then pulled back.

"i thought you said you wanted it back?" you said your goodbyes to his parents before following him out the door. you grabbed a few extra seconds to watch more of their film.

when you walked out of the house, atsumu was leaning against the wall next to the door. "what's the excuse, pretty boy?" you didn't let him escape your question.

"i needed an excuse for you to come over." he admitted and scratched the back of his neck.

"could've just waited until tomorrow."

"i could've." you waited for a following line, but nothing was said. he just walked with his hands in his sweatpants pockets next to you.

"you're not cold?" you glanced over at atsumu in his just a tshirt and his sweatpants when a gust of heavy wind blew past. he didn't look too affected by it.

"i'm sure."

"you look terribly cold." if you looked closely enough, the goosebumps on his arms were visible.

"i'm fine."

"you have goosebumps on your arms."

"a ghost must've just walked through my body."

"whatever you say." you walked a little faster. because it was cold, not because you wanted him to get home quicker.

"so caring." he said sarcastically and caught up to you as soon as you walked away. he didn't even have to take any longer or faster strides. he simply just caught up.

"i'm very caring." you smiled and looked up at him. then he did the predictable action of flicking your forehead. "i asked you three times."

"the most caring. just in case." atsumu moved his hand down to yours, lacing them together. so casually like this was something you guys did everyday. you glanced down at your hands and looked away before he could notice.

he noticed.

"good?" he checked up on you, making sure you wouldn't slap him or something.

"good." you nodded.

the next couple minutes were just silence until you got to your house. "great to see that you do know how to shut up for a few minutes." you said and opened the gate.

"same goes for you." he tossed back at you and watched as your hand fumbled with the lock. "you're struggling."

"like i can't see that for myself." you sighed and let go of his hand to climb over the gate inside. sometimes, locks were just a test of patience. a test you would fail every time.

"well, see you tomorrow, pretty boy." you said and turned back around. he was standing on the other side of the gate, his hands back into his pockets and he was looking at you.

not glaring or staring. just looking.

"yeah, see you." you ran inside the house before he could ask for his jacket back. as much as you hated to admit, you liked this jacket and it smelled good.

"dinner at miya's tomorrow." your grandma chirped from the spot she was sitting on the couch. the tv was playing in front of her and she had a cup of tea on the table.
