Breathe. That's all I wanted right now, was to breathe. To just stand here, in the snow covered field, and breathe. But stealing and running prohibits that. It was nothing major. Just some cash, about 10k to be exact. Enough to pay for higher end drugs on the market. Now you may be wondering, " Why did she steal?" " Why is she going to buy drugs?" " What higher end drugs?" but relax dear readers, all questions will be answered with time. I'll start with my name, Anastasia. No, not the Russian princess Anastasia, the thief, the liar, the little girl who was brought into evil, Anastasia. I grew up with bad people. Specifically, the Mafia. Abandoned at birth, left on the leaders doorstep, and taken in. He's raised me all my life. I don't even remember what my parents look like.
I kept on running until I reached the cliff. I looked over my shoulder and saw the cops after me screaming, " Police! Stop!". Tsk. I turned around and stood there. " Sayonara, boys." I gave a smile before running and leaping of the cliff. " No!" was all I heard before I went under. Letting the angry waves cover me, I swam over to shore. As soon as I had reached the surface, I had inhaled about 20 gallons of salt water. " Oh my living hell. Never again. " I gasped, choking for air. My tongue tasted salty, I was soaking wet in the middle of winter, I jumped off a cliff, and now I have to walk 100 miles south to get to the base. And I don't even have a phone I thought bitterly. " Let's just get this over with." I groaned before starting my freezing, painful march south.
Finally making it home, after a day of walking, I threw the cash, still damp from the water and being in my pockets, onto the table before going to grab a hot shower. " Anya, stop." Oh for goodness sakes, not this idiot. I turned back and was greeting the face of my boss. Oh, did I forget to mention he's an absolute child when he's not doing business? " What." I spat. " Anya, is that anyway to treat your boss?" I rolled my eyes. What a joke. " Nope, but it's a good thing I don't care." I turned to walk away before a hand grabbed my forearm. " Anastasia, you did good. How much did you make?" I sighed, never throwing a glance at him. " 10k. All cash, as you can see on the table. I didn't make it, I stole it." None of us make anything, we just steal and kill. I bowed my head and looked at the floor. This is what I've been raised to do. Steal. Lie. Cheat. Kill. So why am I always feeling guilty after stealing something from others? I shake my head. " Look, the door is over there, use it. I'm going to take a shower." I gestured to the door before heading to the bathroom.
" Oh, Anya one more thing." " What?" I gave him a questioning look. He lifted his head before saying, " We have a few new people coming tomorrow. Midnight to be clear. I want you there. One's a new recruit, the other, a member of another leader's gang. He'll be helping us further our plan in operation " Assembly"." Oh please no. Don't do it. Don't agree.
" Sure, I'll be there. Bokuto."
