It was cold and snowy in the mountains, as Kat rode a brown thoroughbred. Despite the conditions, she'd do anything for a friend. When she'd come to town tonight after driving as far from any enemies as she could, the cure having been shoved down her throat, she'd found out from Walt's team what was happening. Walt was in the mountains, but because the FBI had ordered them to stay, she was the only one able to find him. Plus, she was good at tracking people down, as well as surviving enemies. That made her the best candidate next to Henry or a cop.

Kat heard gunshots, as she continued to search for Walt, so she kicked the horse to a quick canter, following the noise, hoping it would lead her to him. It had been several hours, so she didn't know how much longer he could survive. He wasn't exactly dressed for a snowstorm like this. She knew him well enough to know he normally didn't wear anything extra, much less a protective vest. He was too old-fashioned.

When she finally found him and the escaped prisoner, she knew the prisoner was beyond help. Walt was injured though, she could see, but alive. She knew he needed help soon, though. She also knew that in the middle of a snowstorm like this, she was the only person that could help him. And that's what she intended to do. And it wasn't because they had been something a little more than friends when she was a vampire three plus years ago. It was because she knew it was the right thing to do, but also because when she'd gone to town tonight after she'd gotten the cure shoved down her throat, she'd been looking for him, because he was one of the few people she could trust to protect her. She'd made too many enemies as a vampire. She needed protection. And if you didn't count other forms of protection she could ask for, there was no better protection than for her to have Walt protect her when she needed it.

Walt lay in the middle of the snowstorm, injured, vision blurry, as he lay on his back. Being injured and having to take out a prisoner had taken a lot out of him. Then he heard a horse nearby. Then he blurrily saw her in his field of vision. Katherine. Considering he'd been seeing things though, he wasn't entirely sure if she was really there.

"What did you get yourself into this time?" she questioned him. Then she added, "It doesn't matter. I'm here, though. I'm gonna get you out of here." Then she left his field of vision, as everything dimmed.

After kneeling by him and seeing where he was injured at, she got up and went back to the horse. She then grabbed a part of the horse's reins, guiding the horse over to where Walt was, before getting the first-aid from the horse's satchel that was connected to the side of the saddle. She then went over to Walt again, kneeling at his side, and used the first-aid kit to take care of his wounds. She knew he wasn't fully awake, though. She also assumed that he probably had frostbite or something. She knew she had to get him out of there as soon as possible, though. If she had a say in it, she wasn't going to let anything happen to him. Especially, since she knew that he had a daughter.

A little while later, she'd finished tending to his wounds and had put the first-aid back in the satchel. Now, as she knelt by him, she rested a hand on the side of his face.

"I need you to stay awake a little longer, Walt. I'm gonna need you to help me get you on that horse."

She took her hand away and then helped him over to the horse. Then she helped him up on the horse, before she got up. She then began heading back towards where she'd come from as quickly as she could.

After a long ride back down the mountain and then a long drive back to town, she got him to the hospital, so he lived to see another day.
