Part 47: Baby Steps

Time slowly passes by and its been 4 months since the couple had adopted their little baby.

Baby Kasumi had grown a bit over the months living in the Oikawa household along with her two, amazing dads.

The two weren't exactly perfect parents but they wanted to do their best for Kasumi's sake. They wanted their daughter to grow up with no bad intentions whatsoever. They'd spoil her with toys too but they always made sure to not go overboard.

At this very moment, Oikawa and Kageyama were in the kitchen making dinner for the family.

They were too busy at the moment that they had left Kasumi all alone in the living room with the TV turned on and her toys scattering around messily.

Kasumi had her eyes glued on the screen, not until she looks at the kitchen to find two of her parents in there. It looked like they were doing something serious too.

Kasumi's curiosity rose as she tries with all her might to stand up but she'd end up falling on her butt over and over again.

Even so, Kasumi was very determined. She wanted to make her papa and dada proud.

Kasumi babbles and huffs in annoyance as she tried to fight the urge to not call one of her parents for help.

They seemed busy too. So it was up to herself, whether or not she was gonna succeed or call it quits and try again another day.

Yeahhh no.

The first option was better.

Kasumi crawls right beside the sofa chair Oikawa would sit on whenever the family had their movie nights regularly. Oikawa insisted sitting on the chair so Kageyama and Kasumi can take over the whole couch. And besides, the couch was more comfier than the chair.

Bit by bit, Kasumi was slightly improving. Her legs would give up every now and then but she'd always try to get back up.

She wanted to show her parents that she was already a big girl and she could overcome things like these.

Kasumi herself felt satisfied, feeling her two legs stretched to the max and they'd wobble every now and then. Kasumi holds the chair for support and babbles excitedly.

This caused Kageyama to turn his head over to look at Oikawa, "Can you go check up on Kasumi? She seems to be more bubbly than usual."

Oikawa hummed and wipes his wet hands with a clean towel before walking to the living room.

And when he did, his heart swelled at the sight.

And then a scream.

Kageyama sliced the knife right into the chopping board and cut the fruit precisely. Now what the fuck was that?

"Tooru??"

"YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS!!!!"

Kageyama quickly wipes his hands and takes off his apron, sprinting towards the living room afterwards.

"What is it?!" As Kageyama arrived in the living room, the first thing he saw was Oikawa with his phone in hand. It seemed like he was recording something. The second thing he saw was Kasumi standing on her own two feet and she was laughing wholeheartedly at her daddies.

"I...Kasumi!"

Kasumi's eyes lit up once she sees her dada looking at her with teary eyes. Step by step, she attempts to shuffle over to her dada but loses her balance. Luckily, papa Oikawa was there on time to save the day.

Thump!

Kageyama could only try and shake his poor husband awake since he had fainted after seeing his own daughter learning how to walk for the first time.

Kasumi remained unbothered and she ended up sitting on her papa's arms, eating his hair.

Well... I guess all parents were like that back then... We can't blame Oikawa for acting like that. He has always been good with kids...

And having his own daughter learning how to stand and walk by herself just makes his heart flutter in a good way.

He loved Kasumi so much.

And he'd do everything for her.
