Regulus was feeling empty without his brother. And now that his parents got over the minor gloom about Sirius leaving, they directed all of their anger towards Regulus. That's why he has scars that will probably never completely heal, and bruises that make his whole body sore. Not to mention he cries himself to sleep every single night, because of the hole in his heart that he can never seem to fill.
Meanwhile, Sirius is having the time of his life with his new family, without a second thought about his brother. They don't abuse him like his parents do. The shower him with love and affection, so unlike what he was used to.
After two months after his escape, Sirius was already so much better, mentally, and physically. But the same couldn't be said about his brother.
Before anyone knew, September 1st was right around the corner, that means people will want to go there for shopping.
"Boys! Get up! We need to go get your school supplies!" Mia exclaimed, ripping the blinds open, letting natural sunlight to enter the dark room.
She barged in the room, shouting, and ripping the duvets off them. "UP! UP! UP!" Mia screeched, almost stumbling over an abundance of blankets.
Sirius groaned in exhaustion and covered his eyes against the sudden harsh light, while James was buried underneath a pile of blankets, Mia wasn't sure if he was breathing.
Suddenly, both boys were rudely awoken by a splash of cold water slamming in their faces. Both woke up gasping, looking around frantically with puffy eyes, only to find their mother standing in the middle of the room with a proud smile on her face, wand in hand.
"Mummm!" James whined, poking his head out from underneath the blanket pile, "Now all my blankets are wet." He muttered in exasperation, sleep clouding his voice.
Sirius was still laying there, contemplating ripping his hair out or just going back to sleep. But he would never do that to his precious hair, so went for the latter.
Mia seemed to be following his train of thought, because suddenly, the small proud smile slipped from her lips and was quickly replaced with a stern, threatening one. "Sirius Orion Black, if I see your head touch that pillow, you will be waking up to cold splashes of water for a month." She pointed her wand at him, as if to remind him what happened just moments prior. And Sirius really couldn't tell if she was joking or not, but decided not to take his chances.
"Good god, woman. I can't even get my beauty sleep." Sirius muttered through a yawn, dragging himself to the bathroom to start his morning routine, gently closing the door behind him. James was slowly pulling himself to the surface of the wet blankets, muttering something along the lines of 'thanks for the shower, mum.' Before he got the same threatening look, which made his scurry to the other bathroom next to his room.
"When you're done, meet us downstairs so we can head to Diagon Alley."
Sirius came out the bathroom first, a towel in his hand drying his hair, steam coming out of the bathroom behind him from his shower. He was wearing simple black pants, black combat boots, AC/DC t-shirt, and lastly a black worn-out leather jacket. As for accessories, a simple silver chain around his neck, stud earrings, rings adorning his tattooed fingers. He thought he looked pretty damn good.
He ran his hands through his damp hair, trying to mess it up in a good way. While he did so, he let his thoughts drift to a place he never let it wander to for two months. His brother.
He honestly felt guilty for leaving him there, but he couldn't stay there for a minute longer. If only Regulus agreed to come with him so he could save him from their parents. Little did he know, Regulus had a plan of his own to escape.
