Twelve years ago
The cries of a baby rang throughout the hall. The cries of a newborn baby called to every mother in the place. That's why she went into the room with the doctor and took the second. Her and her husband deserved a child and the doctor had promised her the next, at the insistence of the Dark Lord. Now her time was here and they got their baby. She had to move fast or the parents might hear her cry. They hadn't heard her cry when she was born because she case a spell to hide her cries. She met her husband at the back door to the hospital and they left as fast as they could. Once they returned to their house they set to dressing and feeding the child. She was so tiny and cute. Though she cried too much for her husbands liking. The parents would never know of their child as she was now theirs with their last name and a name they gave her. They would call her Avalee Reign. They would raise her as their own and love her and protect her from any harm that may come to her. She was theirs and they wouldn't let her leave their family ever.
Present
Avalees POVMy mother comes into my room and I look confused. She looks scared and worried. An expression she rarely ever wears. She sits beside me and hugs me. Her long black hair and green eyes look dull today. She holds me and I feel her pain.
"Momma, what happened?" I ask her.
"Oh, my sweet angel, your father died. He was killed in a duel. I fear it's not safe anymore." She whispers to me.
"Died? How? When?"
"Yes he died. He was killed by a killing curse while trying to break into Azkaban. Don't worry about that. Let's get you packed. It's time you go home."
"But momma, I am home."
"Your real home. You see, twelve years ago, we were working for the dark lord. We couldn't have children and the dark lord promised us one. A family gave birth to twins and we took you from them. I don't regret having you, just how we got you. You belong with them."
"You took me from them? Meaning they don't know about me?"
"The doctor told them you had died. I am sorry you had to ever find out. We had hopes you would never need to know, but with your father gone, I fear I can't protect you as we once did."
I sit there I shock. I didn't belong to my parents. I was taken from them. I can't believe what I heard come out of her mouth. Who did I belong to? What did they look like? Would they accept me? I watch as my mother packs my things and I can't move.
"It's not safe for you anymore. Your father made quite a few people mad and they will come for me next. You must return to your true family to really be safe. They are good people. I've been watching them since you were born. They will protect you." She says as she pulls me off the bed and hands me my bag. "Step inside the fire place and I will send you along."
I do as I am told and wait as she gathers powder and drops it while saying the the place I am to go. Suddenly the floor vanishes beneath mg feet and I am falling and being pulled in directions. Around me is green flames and suddenly I am on my butt on a floor. The room I am in is large with old mismatched furniture. I hear voices and they sound happy. I grab my bag and follow the voices and I am in a kitchen. I see a large woman with red hair like mine standing by a balding man. They war talking to shall boy with red hair and a girl with long black hair. The girl sees me and points. Everyone turns and looks at me. I feel heat enter my face and I look down.
"Excuse me, who are you and how did you get here?" Asks the man.
I struggle to form words, "I.. I... I am Avalee Reign and I got here by the fireplace."
"We don't know who you are. Where were you headed?" Asks the woman.
"The... The... The burrow." I say.
She gasps, "Why would you be heading here?"
"To... To find my real family. My mother, the woman who raised me, said you were my family. That twelve years ago you had twins and were told one of them died. I am that child. The doctor helped them get me because the dark lord ordered him to give them the next child that was born." I say to them.
"It's not possible, we buried our daughter. It's not possible." Mutters the man.
"Now, can't you see she's scared. Let me take her up to my room and we can see if Dumbledore will come. You contact him I'll take her upstairs." Says the girl.
"Of course, dear, I am sorry. Take her into the living room. We will send for Dumbledore now." Says the woman.
The girl grabs my hand and takes me into the room I landed in. She sits beside me. I am shaking with fear. I've never been a social person, I was never allowed to have friends back home. No this is home, I scold myself. The boy from the kitchen comes in with a tea tray and sets it on the table in front of us.
"I am Charlie, that's Morgan. Out there are my parents." He says.
"My parents too." I find myself saying.
"It's not proven yet." He points out.
I look down and feel the tears begin to fall. I should leave, I'll return home and be back where I was wanted. I feel an arm come around my shoulder and pull me toward them. I find myself hugging Morgan. She strokes my hair.
"How could you say that? She obviously believes she's part of this family. What if she is who she says she is? You going to accept that?" She asks, who I assume to be Charlie.
"Look, she can't be the stillborn child my parents had with Ron. She just can't be. How is that possible?" He asks.
"Believe me it's possible." She says.
All talking stops. I can hear soft talking from the kitchen and footsteps come in. Morgan helps me stand and set my eyes. I am looking at a tall older man with long white hair and a long white beard. He smiles at me and holds out his hand. I place my hand in his and I watch as he pulls out a stick. He waves the woman over and takes her hand on top of mine. He waves his stick over our hands and I feel a tingling and watch as our hands flow white. I look up at him and he smiles. He nods to the woman and she behind to cry.
"This is indeed your daughter." He said in a soft voice. "It's a pleasure to meet you. What is your name, dear child?"
"Avalee Reign." I say to him.
"You have strong power, I will be seeing you soon." He said to me, just before he disappears.
I gasp and take answer breath. My real mother hugs me as does my real father. They held me tight. More and more people joined us and they all looked the same. Except a boy who looked like Morgan. They finally let me go and turned to everyone else.
"Avalee, this is your family. The oldest is Bill, then there is Charlie, who you've already met. Percy is next after him. The twins there are Fred and George. That there is your twin brother Ronald, call him Ron. Then Ginny is your only sister." Said my mother, "That boy there is Harry, Morgans brother. They aren't related to us but they are basically family as Morgan and Charlie are dating."
Everyone waves and I just stare. I have a big family with brothers and a sister. It feels right being here. It feels good knowing I belong. It feels right knowing I have siblings.
"Come on up to my room, you can share with me." Says Ginny.
I follow her up the stairs. I realize that there are lots of flights of stairs, like the house is tall. She leads me into a room that's really girly. Pink with lots of frilly things. Dolls, other things I wasn't allowed to have. I watch as she sets my bag on her bed and opens it.
She gasps, "Is this all you have?" I nod, "Well mom may be able to whip of some more clothes. Where's your wand? Your school robes?"
"Wand? School robes? I don't have any." I say.
"None? You mean you will be training with me this year?" She hugs me tight, "Don't worry it will be fun."
