Chapter Eleven- Capturing The Basilisk

"I think I know where this thing might be." Says Morgan.

Startling everyone. Ron looks up, "Where?"

"Last year, when I had issues with Wormtail, I went into a chamber called the chamber of secrets. It's all old plumbing. Tight and moist." She says. "But when I was there I didn't see this monster. So maybe I am wrong."

I look down at my hands. I need to go see where I can find this chamber and kill the monster. We aren't allowed out alone, but I can't go with the others, they wouldn't understand. I walk to the dorm and chance into some dark colored clothes. I wait as everyone goes to bed. When the coast is clear, I sneak outbid the common room and into the hall.

"I knew you couldn't resist. Follow me." Whispers Morgan.

I follow her through the school and into the first floor girls bathroom. As we begin to work on the entrance to the chamber the door opens and we hide in a stall.

"Are you sure this is where this thing is?" I hear Professor McGonnagal ask.

"I am sure of it. This chamber was build by Salazar Slytherin for his use. He enjoyed snakes. It's the last place we haven't looked." He says.

"Just how do you plan in capturing this thing? It has petrified everyone it's seen."

"Easily. I know a charm to put it to sleep. Then I will kill it. Can't risk this happening a third time."

"How will we know for sure that this is where it is?"

"I already know. I followed it. Now, stay here while I take a look inside."

A scream came through the door and they ran out. I heard more screams and I knew the basilisk was out and about. A bunch if crashing noises and thumps came and was followed by silence. We slowly exited the bathroom and watched as the basilisk was drug away by Dumbledore and McGonnagal. We ran back to the common room and snuck inside. Charlie and Ron were waiting for us.

"Where did you go?" Charlie demands.

"Out. Look they caught the basilisk. We saw it happen. They are going to kill it."says Morgan.

"You mean you seeing without getting petrified?" Asks Ron.

"We didn't see it's eyes, but yes. A few more people were petrified. Tomorrow we, Avalee and I, will go see Hermione. They have to be close with the first batch of potion." Says Morgan.

"You! How could you just leave like that after everything that has happened lately. Don't you care about anything?" Demands Charlie, "I promised mom and dad that I would protect you. How can I do that with you leaving like this when it's hot safe. I swear you both have a thirst for danger."

I don't say anything and head into my dorm. I sit on my bed and wish I had someone I could talk to. Charlie and Ron are angry with me. Morgan doesn't understand. Ginny is too young to know and Dane isn't here and I can't talk to her. I guess I am alone. I hear noise outside the tower and I go to the window. I see Dumbledore and the large green basilisk. I watch as it vehemently move. There is a blindfold over it's eyes and I watch as it frantically tries to get it off. Dumbledore raised his want and the snake bursts into flames and turns into ash. He then makes the ash disappear and walks back into the castle. I smile and know that the danger is gone. I hear McGonnagal call us all to the common room.

"The threat is gone now. You will be allowed to return home for the holidays. You may leave the common room but under the rules previously given at start of term." She says and leaves.

"That was interesting. I wonder how the threat was taken care of. Mom will love this news." Says Charlie.
