Hyungwon walked in the law department's building, meaning to head back to his dorm now that he was finished with lectures for the day when he noticed a familiar figure seated next to the tall table on the side of the corridor.
"Hi," he said with a shy voice as he approached the guy who now lifted his head to see who had joined him.
"Oh hi, Hyungwon," Seokwoo said, quickly collecting some of his stuff from the table so he wouldn't take up all the space. Hyungwon sat on the other one of the two chairs, assuming Seokwoo allowed him to join by the way he had made more room on the table.
"What are you doing here?"
"I had a lecture just now and I'm meeting my academic advisor in half an hour so I'm just waiting here. Trying to see if I can get some work done in the meanwhile," Seokwoo explained.
"Now I came here to make sure no work will get done," Hyungwon joked and the other guy let out a chuckle, looking down at his pile of books and papers as if he was trying to hide his smile.
"It's fine. I really wasn't feeling inspired anyway. And I would much rather talk to you," Seokwoo placed his elbow on the table and rested his chin on his palm, looking at Hyungwon very carefully.
"Oh..." Hyungwon's mind suddenly went back to the conversation he had had with Hoseok. Maybe Hoseok was right, maybe Seokwoo might like me a bit, he thought but then he met the eyes of the other and quickly took back his thoughts. Or he probably just is like this with everyone. He is a nice person. You can be nice without having a crush on someone.
"So how was your lecture?" Seokwoo asked, trying to see which book Hyungwon had set down on the table to figure out which lecture he had just gotten out of.
"Boring. Administrative court would be interesting but somehow the lecturer manages to make it sound so boring and I can't concentrate at all," Hyungwon complained, leaning back on the chair. He realized he finally had someone to talk about studies with who understood what he was talking about. He sometimes ranted to Hoseok about difficulties he faced but Hoseok never knew what it was all about. Seokwoo could actually relate and since he had already studied all of this a year ago, he probably would be able to help with any possible problems.
"I know. I struggled so much in his lectures last year," Seokwoo, luckily, really was able to relate to Hyungwon's thoughts. "I barely wrote any notes in his class because it all seemed so indifferent and then I was in trouble when it came time for the exam."
"Are his exams hard?"
"Quite hard actually. It had three long essays and the questions were very specific so you couldn't just come up with something that would be close enough. And some of the questions were something that wasn't even in the book but he had talked about in a lecture so... Not nice at all."
"That sounds awful," Hyungwon was concerned, thinking that he might fail this course.
"But hey, I passed the exam as well! On the second try but I passed," Seokwoo encouraged him, feeling he might have made it sound a bit too scary. "I did new notes with the help of Taeyang and Siyeong who had managed to listen more than I had. I'll give you those notes if you need them."
"Thank you. That would be really helpful."
"It's not a problem. I want you to do well. The first year can be tough," Seokwoo gave him a sweet smile and Hyungwon suddenly felt shy. He was older but the way this guy talked to him made him feel like he was a high schooler taking advice from a university student.
"Why are you so nice?" Hyungwon couldn't help but ask.
Seokwoo chuckled, a smile spreading on his face again. "I don't know. You make me want to be nice," he looked at Hyungwon in the eyes and Hyungwon could hear his own heartbeat getting louder.
"Never knew I had that kind of power," he said, flustered, breaking the eye contact he had with Seokwoo although he really would have wanted to continue it. Something about the senior was so mesmerizing.
They continued talking about studying for some more before Seokwoo had to go meet his advisor. Hyungwon also continued his previous plan of going back to his dorm since he had no reason to linger around at the university any longer.
"What in the holy hell is going on here?" was the first thing Hyungwon asked when he arrived at the apartment. He looked around, trying to grasp some sense of the view in front of him that resembled something a hurricane might leave behind.
"I'm cleaning," Hoseok replied, standing in the middle of the room with a rag in his hand.
"It doesn't look clean," Hyungwon stepped over some stuff to get to the couch only to realize it was also covered in things that certainly did not belong there – there was a difference between things that can be on the couch and things that are in absolutely wrong place if they are on the couch.
Clothes, candy wrappers, studying material, those were fine. It was a mutual agreement that those things can be on the couch without it making their apartment 'dirty'. Now, however, the couch was taken by not only all the previously mentioned ones but also Hyungwon's old soccer trophies, all kinds of chargers and other cables, a wall clock and their half-dead houseplant.
"That's because I haven't finished yet," Hoseok said, not wanting to hear any complaints from Hyungwon. "Don't start with me, when was the last time you cleaned here?"
"Like last week."
"And did what? It's so fucking dusty here," Hoseok turned around to show the dust-covered rag to Hyungwon who had found a place to sit from the kitchen. He continued cleaning the top of their small bookshelf until he suddenly started coughing hard. It took him a while to recover. "I have taken a dick so deep in my throat I can't believe I'm about to die choking on dust."
"Well there was no dust in the air until you started sweeping it around. Open a window or something," Hyungwon reached to open the kitchen window, realizing the air really was quite stuffy.
"Are you kidding me? So instead of cleaning I should just let the dust collect on every surface?"
"Since it seems like cleaning it is making you die it seems like leaving all the dust there would be a better option," Hyungwon knew this was so not correct but he couldn't help but tease Hoseok. "Unless, of course, you like choking."
"I'm so close to showing this rag down your throat," Hoseok muttered in an angry tone but Hyungwon didn't think of it as a threat at all.
"Should I help you clean first, princess?"
"You really..." Hoseok turned around again and took a couple big steps to where Hyungwon was, holding the dusty rag in his hand, ready to press it against Hyungwon's face.
Hyungwon held his hands out, trying to stop Hoseok who was using all of – or at least most of – his power to press the rag on Hyungwon's face. Some of the dust fell off and Hyungwon screamed as it landed on top of his face and later, to his open mouth as well. He turned his head away to spit out the dust and as he finally stopped resisting, Hoseok managed to smack the rag against the side of his face.
"Why do you hate me so much," Hyungwon cried out once Hoseok had pulled away. He had his eyes closed, fearing that some dust would get into his eyes if he opened them. He could feel the side of his face was full of particles that weren't there previously.
"You asked for it," Hoseok said but set down the rug so he could help Hyungwon and brush some of the excess dust off his face.
"I asked if I should help you, not this," Hyungwon complained. If an outsider were to witness the situation, it would have looked very wrong but Hoseok knew Hyungwon was still just playing around.
"Aw, you can help me now," Hoseok said sweetly and pressed a kiss on Hyungwon's forehead. "Oh, it's a bit dusty," he snickered and brushed his hand across Hyungwon's face once more before heading back to continue what he had been doing.
