Still flashback
Dave didn't understand. "Bro, go make him wake up! It's not naptime!" He said with a small smile. "Dave, he's not going to wake up..." Dirk said as he hopped down from the window sill they were perched on. "Yes he will! Just go wake him up or I'll do it!" Dave said as he carefully climbed down from the window sill as well and went over to his brother. Dirk was trying his best to stay strong for his little brother. He looked at the younger boy and said just over a whisper, "He can't wake up... He's...dead." Dirk said, tears streaming down his face. "He can't be! Not our dad!" Dave said with a small laugh, slight hope still in his eyes. Dirk started to the door. As he reached for the door a loud pounding and a gruff voice responded.
Dirk jumped back as the voice said, "Open the damn door, you fucking Satan spawn!" The boys cowered in fear, away from the door, when Dirk remembered what his father taught him. He grabbed all the holy water in the house and ran to the door. He opened it, tossed it at the man, watching in interest as he screamed in pain. The man began to back away, not expecting the children to fight back. He tripped over their father, as Dirk went to find their Bible. He began a small exorcism, tripping over his words. Dave looked on in amazement. Once Dirk finished the exorcism, the man went limp and a funnel of black smoke erupted from his mouth. Dirk kneeled next to his father, and gestured for Dave to come do the same. They sat, staring at their father. Dirk took off their dad's favorite sunglasses and gave Dave his old ones. They looked they same, with pointy sides, like something you would see in an anime. He slips on the too-big sunglasses as Dave does the same. "When you grow up, let's hunt these things." Dirk said with a glance at his brother. He simply responded with a small nod.
