Chapter twenty three

Harry's POV

Harry woke up in the middle of the night to Louis crying and flailing in his sleep. Louis had tear tracks streaming down his cheeks. He kept muttering until he started screaming. Harry shook him repeatedly trying to wake him. Louis woke startled and immediately backed away from Harry. Harry tried to slowly come closer, but Louis kept backing away.

"Louis, it's me Harry. It's me Lou" Harry said. 

"No no no" Louis cried covering his ears.

Harry reached over to louis and gently pulled his hands down and held them. Louis started to calm down slightly. Louis still looked like he was ready to run at any moment.

"Louis it's okay I'm here, no one is going to hurt you" Harry said reassuringly. 

Louis chuckled lightly and looked at him. 

"Yeah, okay Harry sure" Louis said sarcastically.

"It's true, I won't let anyone hurt you like that again Lou. I won't" Harry said.

"Whatever" Louis said dismissively.

Louis moved and winced as he got up. Harry looked at Louis confused. He didn't know where Louis was going. He needed to make sure that Louis knew that Harry cared about him. He really cared about him and wanted to protect him. He had already failed Louis once and he couldn't let that happen again. If he wasn't ignoring Louis, this would never have happened.

"Where are you going Lou" he said.

"Um I-I got to go. And don't call me Lou, no one can call me that anymore. No one is left to call me that" Louis said frustratedly.

"What are you talking about Lou uh Louis" Harry asked.
"Uh nothing it doesn't matter anymore, nothing matters anymore" Louis muttered.

"Louis what are you saying. What happened" Harry said.

"Nothing I'm fine" Louis responded bluntly.

"Louis I know that you are not fine. Stop saying that you're fine. I found you last night I know damn well that you are not fine, stop lying" Harry said.

"Stop it, stop Harry. Nothing happened, nothing ever happens" Louis said repeatedly.

"Louis please, I know that something happened" Harry said.

"No nothing happened" Louis yelled.

"Oh, really that's not what it looked like Louis. I found you beaten and sprawled on a bed naked at a party, something happened. Stop acting like it was nothing. We should tell someone, the police maybe" Harry said.

"No" Louis protested. "I'm fucking fine Harry. Leave me alone, nothing happened I am fine" Louis yelled.

"Louis you were raped, stop acting like it didn't happen" Harry said.

"No, I wasn't shut up. I didn't get raped, I didn't stop him. It's my fault. It's no big deal Harry, stop acting like it is" Louis yelled.

"It is a big deal" Harry yelled back.

He didn't mean to yell but he did. Louis flinched at the yelling and yelled back.

"No, it isn't. it was my fault I'm just taking responsibility" Louis yelled.
