Beautiful Differences

Chapter 1 (prologue)

-Stella, wanna hang out after classes end?- I stop daydreaming for a second and look up to find Ryan looking at me with an amazed look. I'm pretty sure he knows I was not paying attention to anything being said. Our group of friends is having lunch outside since it's sunny today and all I can think about is the stressful week that we are about to face. Next week is midterms week. I am set on getting perfect grades all four years of college so I get caught up on thinking how I am going to organize myself quite often.

-Ryan... You know I have to study. I have already procrastinated two days playing video games with you. I need to study or otherwise I won't.../

-You won't be in the Dean's list... Yeah I know. It didn't hurt trying though.- He looks sad. Oh gosh. I can't give in. This is how he managed to get me to skip my studying schedule of the week. I can't crave. I WON'T crave... Who am I kidding. I can't say no to that face.

-Yeah. But, if I have a productive afternoon in the library I promise you I'll try to see you tonight. Okay?

-Okay!- My best friend seems pleased enough. I laugh in reaction to the wide smile he has on his face. It's so easy to make him happy and I love making people smile. So saying no to him is almost impossible.

-Maybe we can all play among us or something like that.- Says Zac. He is Sophia's twin. They are both part of our group of friends.

In my group there are eight people. There's Ryan (My best friend since childhood), Zac and Sophia (The twins), Jake and Haley (Who are dating), Alex (She was the first person I met here in college, apart from Ryan, who I already knew) and Lucas (He is the newest addition to the group, but seems very sweet). I really enjoy hanging out with my friends. They are down to earth and we are very diverse with different personalities. I think that's my favorite part about the group. For an instance, with Sophia I can talk about boys, movies and music and with Alex I can geek out on literally anything. I also really enjoy having guys in our group since there barely is any drama. There has not been any big issues since we all became friends last year, and if there has been any discussions it has been over which pizza to get or what video game to play. Simple stuff.

-That sounds like fun!- Shouts Alex excited. She has been obsessed with Among us for quite some time. I just hope that she doesn't get impostor, because when she does she has no mercy and slices everyone regardless of what's going on at the moment. She gets pretty scary.

-I'm down for that- Says Jake. Haley tries to hide a frown, but I notice it. She doesn't really enjoy playing video games, and the fact that her boyfriend is always playing them doesn't seem to excite her much.

- Then it's settled. Tonight we try to play Among us. It's been a while since we last played it all together.- Zac speaks while sharing a complice look with Sophia. Next to me I notice Lucas nodding and smiling in sign of approval.

-Yeah, we can try to!- I smile in response.- Although I'm not sure if I will be able to finish studying in time.- I check my phone and see that it's time for my next class.- Speaking of. I'm late for my next class. Gotta run!- I say while I stand up, wave goodbye and start running. The campus is fairly big but not big enough that you can't get to classes by walking. So I mostly just walk to all of my classes. I walk fast as I'm running a few minutes behind. But I'm not worried, I always like to get there ten minutes early so I will get there with some time to spare. I check my phone and see that class starts in eight minutes. I'm around five minutes away so I'm fine. Nothing to worry about. Beginning Digital Video Production, here we come.
