(Benny's POV)

I was in a peaceful slumber when I wake up to...cheering? And, it was coming from my closet. I remember that Y/N was with me so I got up to see what it was.

"Who's there?" I ask. Just then a guy walks out, but he looked like T.V static. It was the Babe.

"Don't go peein your pants, Kid. I'm just here to give you a hand." The Babe said.

"B- But you're..." I trail off, in shock to see someone so legendary in my house.

"Dead? Legends never die, Kid." Ruth says, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"But you're really him! The Sultan of Swat! The King o-"

"Crash and all the other dopey names. Forget about that stuff kid. We ain't got much time. I'm here because you're in some kind of pickle, right?" He asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"A baseball, with my John Hancock on it, went over a fence and you can't get it right?" He asked.

How does he know this stuff? I thought.

"Yeah...right." I say.

"Then, just hop over there and get it." The Babe states. I try to process what he just said.

"Wait! Wait." I call. He turns around.

"I can't." I say.

"Can't what?" He asks, confused.

"I can't go into that back yard." I state the obvious.

"Why not?" He asks. Looks like I gotta explain it to him.

"There's a beast back there." I say.

"What kind?" He asks.

"A giant gorilla, dog thing. That ate one kid already." I say, referring to the story Squints told us.

"Is that a fact kid? Sit down, sit down." He gently orders, while grabbing something off my desk.

"Lemme tell ya something kid. Everybody gets one chance to do something great. Most people never take the chance, either because they're to scared or because they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes. This is your big chance kid. And you shouldn't let it go by. Remember that baseball you busted the guts out of the other day? Someone's tryna tell ya somethin kid. I'd listen. That your girl?" He asks, pointing at Y/N peacefully asleep on my bed. I smile.

"Yeah." I state.

"She good at ball?" He asks.

"Best on the team." I state.

"She's a keeper kid. Don't let her go." Ruth states.

Wasn't planning on it. I thought with a chuckle.

"Henry Aaron...I don't know why, but can I have this kid?" Ruth asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"Thanks." He says going back to my closet.

"Wait. You're saying I should hop over that fence, and pickle The Beast?" I confirm.

"Think about that kid. I'll see ya later." He says, going back into the closet. I look around trying to figure out what I was gonna do. I then land on his picture when he says something that'll stick with me forever.

"Remember kid, there's heroes and there's legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart kid, and you'll never go wrong." And then I woke up, with small arms wrapped around me. Y/N I smile and kiss her four head and she smiles in her sleep. I then plant kisses all over her face to wake her up, which she eventually does. She's definitely not a morning person.

"What?" She groans.

"I have an idea on how to get the ball back." I state, that gets her attention.

"Benny no! Are you insane?" I exclaim.

"Maybe." He chuckles, opening his secret weapon. Shoes guaranteed to make you run faster and jump higher; P. F Flyers.

"We can't let him do this, man." Kenny says.

"Benny wait. It's okay. It was my fault. You don't have to do this!" Scott says.

"Yeah! Come on Benny! You don't have to do it! Forget about it! It's like committing suicide Benny, don't do it!" Squints pleads.

"Yeah! Don't do it Benny." Tommy says.

"Yeah I do Smalls. I have to do this." Benny says about to hop over that fence.

"Benny wait! Promise you'll come back over that fence." I say. He looks me straight in my eyes and says,

"I promise." Then jumps over. My heart stops. He was over there for about fifteen seconds but it felt like hours, but my heart started beating again when he comes flying over the fence with that slobbery ball. I run and hug him, practically squeezing the life out of him.

"Lemme see the ball." I say, he gives it to me. Just then we see a huge English Mastiff jump over the tall fence.

"Oh shit!" Benny and I exclaim, both of us taking off the dog barking at us.

"What are we waiting for? Let's get 'em!" Scott says, and the rest of the boys start running after us.
