I followed Ares into a large clearing. Immediately my eyes latched onto 3 men. They were large, all of them. Something tells me that it's normal here. The men didn't look up as we entered. They hadn't seen me yet. Ares took a right and headed for what looked like 4 ancient tents. They weren't the ones I was used to. Rather than store-bought fabric, animal hides were encasing the tents. The second his large body was no longer hiding me, 3 flaming sets of eyes were burning into me."Howdy," I said awkwardly.
"Who the hell are you and what are you doing here?" asked one of them. He was beautiful in a dark sort of way. He had short black hair that was slightly longer on top and eyes so dark you could only tell that they were dark blue because of the fire in them. He sat on a log on the left side of the fire.
"She's with me," a voice behind me spoke up.
"Damn you. You really need to stop saying stuff when you're right behind me like that. You're going to give me a heart attack," I flipped around to Ares.
"I found her lost in the forest," he glanced down at me before adding, "she said she lost her dog so I figured she was one of your's Rome."
The man sitting on the middle log glared playfully at Ares before saying "We're wolves dumbass, not dogs."
Rome is good-looking in a more ruggedly handsome way. He has long shaggy hair that tickles the tips of his slightly pointed ears. He's nicely tanned whether it was from being outside or just lucky genetics, I don't know.
"You shouldn't have brought her here Ares," rumbled a deep voice from the third and final log.
I've seen good-looking men before but I've never seen a male who was so absolutely beautiful. I generally don't think that long hair on a man is attractive but I'd be lying if I said the long silver hair didn't suit him. He might've been talking to Ares but his eyes never left mine. Luckily I love eye contact. I challenged myself to a little staring contest. He finally looked away from me to glare are Ares for whatever he had just said. I smiled to myself for this very very small win.
"She's clearly not from around here dressed like that," said the one on the left.
I looked down at my outfit with a frown. I had on my favorite pair of jeans with my signature white vans and a white t-shirt.
"Whadya mean? I look hot," I said confidently. Weird, considering I thought they were going to murder me only minutes ago. Rome snorted while both men on the left and right of the fire let out grunts of shock.
"This is Sarah. I found her wandering around the forest near Serpent Falls. I truly cannot even begin to figure out where she could be from," he explained to them.
"What are you?" Rome asked innocently.
I smiled at him "I'm a woman, I'm a team player, and I don't want to toot my own horn but I'd say that I'm also the funniest person I've ever met."
The beautiful man turned to Ares "Is she stupid or crazy,"
"That's a low blow," I say with a grin. The adrenaline running through my veins has me speaking every thought that comes through. I really need to stop before it gets me killed.
"I'm taking her to the city so someone else can figure it out but for now she's with us," Ares says with a frown.
He motions for me to follow him and he leads us to one of the tents. He opens the flap for me and I enter to see a fairly cozy layout. He points to the cot that's covered in fur blankets.
"Sleep. I know you're tired," with that order he exits the tent.
Usually, I might be pissed that I was just ordered around but I'm tired and I've been through a lot. I need sleep. Maybe when I wake up, this will have all been a dream.

FantasyThis is a story that I replay every night to go to bed so I'm hoping that it turns out okay in the actual writing. This is really more for my own curiosity.
