Chapter 4

Bacon?

My immediate thought after sleep is usually food. I've never been a huge fan of bacon unless it was on a double cheeseburger but the air smells heavily of it. I hadn't had the chance to eat before pulling off of the cursed exit. I untangle myself from the soft blankets.

It is fricking FREEZING.

I rub my arms in attempt to bring back some of the warmth that had encased me only moments ago. I creep towards the flap of the tent and peek my head out.

Rome and the beautiful one sat near the fire cooking something. As I take my first step out of the tent both pairs of eyes locked onto my shivering form. Rome's eyes softened when he realized it was me.

"Come sit. The food is almost ready," he said.

I made my way towards Rome's side quickly. I sat uncomfortably close to him but I can't bring myself to care when it's this cold out.

"You're going to get sick," he rumbles next to me.

He got up and headed to what I assumed to be his tent. He took his heat with him.

Mother F why is it so cold??

Rome returned only seconds later with a large fur coat of some sort. He handed it to me. I took it and I threw it on immediately. It encased my entire body. Which is pretty impressive considering I am not a small woman. I've had curves for as long as I can remember. I couldn't help the gargantuan smile that appeared on my face while I cuddled into the soft coat. It helped that it smelled like Rome, Pine and morning air.

"Where is Ares?" I question aloud.

There was a moment of silence before "He slept in my tent when we switched for keeping watch,"

I turned to the silver haired beauty in front of me.

"Oh," was my only reply.

I turned back to Rome.

"So...Rome?" I ask.

"What?"

"Are your parents big fans of Ancient Rome or something?"

He gave me a weird look.

"My name is short for Romeo," he answers.

"Oh!" I smile. "So they like Shakespeare,"

"I don't know what you're talking about,"

He sounded and looked sincere in his confusion.
