+++Chapter 9: A Sudden Encounter+++

Kavan had become extremely gentle. He always moved around making sure I wasn't sad; it was quite adorable. He no longer seemed like the vile monster that tormented the mansion. Mrs. Potts claimed his temper seemed to have dispersed and I was responsible for it. I was glad that I was helping him.

Today I had promised to go into the village to go shopping with him. He was a nervous wreck.

He shifted nervously as I placed a beanie on his head to cover his ears. I stretch on my tip toes trying to tuck his ears in. He smiled and bent down to make it easier for me.

"Thank you." I murmured.

“You’re welcome.” He smiled and his ears wiggled as I tried to tuck them in. I pursed my lips in concentration as I safely attempted hide his ears.”You’re face looks funny.” He chuckled.

I glared at him playfully,”Then stop wiggling your ears.” I told him. He laughed, and tried his best to keep still.

After, I helped him into a large, black coat that would hide his sneaky tail. Finally, I placed sunglasses on him to conceal his crimson eyes.

"Alright just make sure not to wag your tail or flick your ears." I told him and it made me giggle; it was odd to be telling somebody this, and I would have never expected a situation like this.

"Yes ma'm." Kavan smirked at me and I gave him a look that said he'd better listen to me.

Kavas then proceeded to grab my coat and put it on me. He then wrapped a scarf around me, his fingers brushed on my neck and it shockingly made me blush.

"Ready." He announced, watching intently.

We waved goodbye to Mrs. Potts, who sent apprehensive looks our way and then we walked out into the icy wind. I shivered and Kavan moved closer to me; I loved how thoughtful he was.

However, his countenance was also an anxious one.

"It'll be alright." I assured him and grabbed his arm to hold onto. His body relaxed next to me, and smiled slightly.

"Okay."

It had been a while since I had been into this hellish town. I noticed that I was gentler as a person at Kavan's home than I was in this town. He noticed this too, for when people pushed me around and I gave them death stares, Kavan watched me with wide eyes.

This town just put me in an awful mood. It was where the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. A middle class no longer existed. The inequality was impressive and representative to our awful government system in which a tyrant ruled solely on his golden pedestal.
