***A Fallen Petal and a Snowfight***
I wake up to the warm sun filtering through the window; today is the third day in the mansion. Is the rose dead yet? Jem is probably becoming impatient.
I stretch and crawl out of my comfortable bed and look out the window to the icy snow. It's shocking that the roses are still alive in such weather.
I quickly take a warm shower, and get ready for the day.
"Sophia. Sophia." Someone calls my name as I'm looking out the window;I turn to see Jem at the door.
"Your suppose to knock." I scowl at him and he rolls his eyes. "What is it?" I sigh.
"Well your little pet is throwing a tantrum in his room..." Jem says with humor; I roll my eyes.
"He is not my pet, Jermayne." I reply with a smirk as he scowls.
"Whatever." He shuts the door and I chuckle at how childish he can be.
I walk into the hallway and hear a low roar. I raise a brow and stop in front of Kavan's room, where Mrs. Potts is trying to talk with him.
"Whats wrong?" I ask with worry, for the roar seems as if it is mourning.
"He's upset about something, but won't let me in. He might listen to you." She replies with a solemn tone."I will go get him his breakfast." She states and walks away, letting me solve the problem.
I knock on the door lightly," Kavan. What's wrong? Let me in." I hear a grunt in reply. "Kavan, open the door or I'll... I'll...Well I don't know yet, but I will figure it out." I say with a sigh.
I hear shuffling and the door is unlocked, Kavan opens the door and his eyes glow a crimson red, once again looking as if all sanity is gone. I frown looking at Kavan's tortured gaze.
"Your awful at threatining, but I opened the door because I pitied your attempts." Kavan declares quietly; I raise a brow at his teasing. He tends to shy away; I guess he is more confident when he let's his animalistic side take over.
"Well I'm glad you did." I say as I walk into the dark room. It is decorated in colors of red and black, however there is nothing personal; just a king size bed, a dresser, a desk and two night stands. I look at the desk to see a vase, holding the rose I picked. On the table is a fallen, crimson petal; the rose is dying.
I look at Kavan to see he is glaring at the rose, his pupils in vertical slits; so this is why he threw his tantrum. He knows I'm leaving soon. I sigh and walk toward the rose; I want to leave to go back to the orphanage, but I have taken a liking to this place and the people within it.
"Don't worry there is still time." I assure him, looking at the rest of the rose that glows with life. "Your dramatic aren't you?" I chuckle lightly.
"It means a lot to me that you are here." He replies quietly and picks up the petal, placing it in the palm of his hand."But there is never enough time." He states solemnly as he crushes the petal in his hand.
"Well, once time is up, I promise to visit you," I declare, attempting to brighten his spirits; I can't promise him I'll stay or that there is plenty of time, because niether is realistic. But I am honest about coming back to visit him.
"I don't want you to just visit." He replies in a monotone; he suddenly clutches his fist and walks quickly to his closet. He comes back out with a crystal platter with a glass top. I watch curiously as he pulls the rose out of the vase and places it in the glass container.
