"Changbin now is not the time to ask that question. We have things to do, look at all of this paperwork." Lee Know answers for me. Changbin gets dismayed by the reply and slams the papers he is holding onto the table.
"8 months of no contact, no text, no message, no answers whatsoever. Do you think Chan is the only one affected by this? Felix has been my best friend for years, why won't you guys think about what I feel!" He screams in frustration. I wasn't the only one left behind, the whole group was. The only advantage I have if it's even considered an advantage. Is that I knew what exactly happened.
"Think about the kids, I don't know what to answer them anymore when they ask me where Felix is. I keep telling them he's busy in some place only God knows where. I... I just miss him." His voice suddenly changes in tone from being high pitch and frustrated to a low, even shaking one. I stood up to hug him. He hugs me back without hesitation as tears began to fall from his eyes. You can hear the pain through his sobs. Lee Know then comes near us to hold Changbins hand, caressing the top of it with his thumb.
"I chose to not tell you guys what happened that night, but to know that he was happy when he left," I tell him as I hold back my tears.
"Bring him back Chan, I beg you." He cries even more. It seems like he has been bottling up all his emotions for the past 8 months we have all been separated. We used to live in Korea, specifically Seoul's Gangnam Area. Though we had our own house or condominiums we still chose to meet up at my place and stay there. Everything Changed after our trip to Adelaide. Last year, December. It was around that month were in Hongjoong agreed to an arrangement for Hamilton Island. Going there was a sign of formality to the agreement. The night he was asking about is the night before we left for Korea. I had asked them to go to the hotel first because I wanted some alone time with Felix. But I guess I took the word alone a little too seriously. Instead of coming back to Korea as a group of 8, we came back as a group of 7. We didn't stay in Korea for too long, we flew to different countries or places before the new year. Lee Know and I went to Sydney, Changbin left for Canada, Hyunjin chose to go to New York, Han came back home to Malaysia, Seungmin transferred to Japan and I.N move to Busan. I had to make an alibi about not coming back to Korea with Felix. At that particular moment, all they knew was that he was waiting for me here in Australia.
"You should stop before the kids wake up, if they see you crying they would wonder why and ask more questions." Lee Know points out, still holding on to Changbin's hand. Changbin looks at him as he tries to catch his breath from all of the cryings. I gently pat his head and he looks up at me, eyes all red and swollen and cheeks soaked in tears. I wipe his tears with my thumb which makes him hush a bit.
"All we can do is move forward, let's stop thinking about him." Something that I couldn't even do. Such a hypocrite human being. Why am I even wasting my time telling people things I can't even do.
"You should wash up then let's just eat out for dinner. So that we can all get some fresh air. Chan, go and wake up the kids. Tell them to get ready for dinner. I'll assist Changbin to the bathroom." Lee Know commands and slight tugs Changbin to stand up. The younger one follows and I was left to fix up the paperwork on the table. I quietly walk into the living area, peaking at the Kids if they were awake. Seem like all of them are still fast asleep. It might be the jet lag that causes all of this.
"Seungmin~ Hyunjin~ Han~ I.N~," I say in a low voice trying not to startle them. They then begin to wake up, rubbing their eyes and letting out a yawn. Seungmin sits up, eyes still closed. Hyunjin just rolls over to his side. Han places a pillow on his face while I.N was the only one who had his eyes wide open.
"Chan~" I.N calls out
"Yes?" I asked, he sat up and smile.
"Good morning." He laughs, stretching his arms up. I pass by him to give him a pat on the shoulder before going around the sofa.
