Chapter 1

It's was 7 am in New York. Shawn Hunter the 14 years old was getting ready for school. After his fathers died, Shawn and his 20-year-old half brother Jack moved to New York to open a new page. Jack believed it was the best thing for his young-can't express his feelings-brother.

Shawn took the subway and was on his way to his new school. "John Quincy Adams" middle school.

Meantime at the Matthews family, Riley was waiting for her best friend Maya Hart to come so they could walk to school together. At 7 am, just like every day, the door opened with a blonde girl standing holding her jacket with both of her hands. "Hey Riles, ready to go?"

"Sure I am", Riley grabbed her bag and Maya's hand and they walked to the subway on their way to "John Quincy Adams " middle school.

Riley and Maya went to their lockers to get books for their next class. Near the lockers, they met their friends Lucas friar and Farkle Minkus. "Hello ladies" farkle said. He always flirted with Maya and Riley. "Farkle" answered the girls. "Hey cowboy, how's your horses?" Maya always made fun of Lucas. Lucas was a new student last year from Texas. So Maya's thing is to make fun of his Texas's accent and she is trying to get to him but it's not working for her. "There is no horses in New York" Lucas smirked, "am I ever going to get to you?" Asked Maya angrily "nope, but I appreciate your efforts, ma'am"

Meanwhile Shawn was looking for his locker. He was walking around looking till he saw a group of two girls and two boys, 'they look cool, maybe they could help me' thought Shawn for himself. He walked towards them and introduced him to them. "Hey I'm new here and I'm looking for my locker, locker 21". "Hey I'm Lucas, that's farkle, Riley and Maya, whats your name?" "I'm Shawn hunter" "hey, your locker is next to mine" said Maya with a sweet smile and she pointed to the locker. "Thank you...." "Maya, Maya hart" Shawn smiled and walked with Maya to their lockers. "What class do you have now?" Asked Maya. Shawn checked in his notebook where he write all his classes and said "umm.. History with mr. Matthews" "mine too, let me show the way" "why thank you" Shawn smirked and walked with Maya to the class. He got to say that Maya is pretty cute, but nothing will work. If his dad had to merry 3 times and still got left, that's what's going to happen to him. "Hello ms. Hart, who is your friend?" Asked mr. Matthews pointing at Shawn. "I'm Shawn hunter, I'm a new student here." "Oh nice to meet you mr. Hunter, you can sit...behind Lucas" said Cory Matthews pointing at the table behind Lucas. The class started and Cory Matthews began to speak. The school ring rang and the class was on their way outside to the cafeteria. Riley came to Maya And asked her "so, how's the new guy for you?" She smirked. "Umm he's nice" "nice enough for you to have a little crush on him?" Another smirk smile by Riley, "Riley, you know I'm not one of those girls that see a guy and already think 'omg he is so cuute' 'I'm going to date him' nothing will going ever EVER to happen!" "Why? Why you can't give a chance to people? How do you know what's going to happen in your life?" Riley raised her vice. "Because, people tend to stay at the same level as their parents."

At the cafeteria the boys set and talk. "So how's school for you?" Asked Lucas. "Umm pretty good, the teachers are nice, and I also met some friends" Shawn smiled. Shawn liked the new school. He never thought that he would survive but in life there are surprises. Riley and Maya came in and sat in the table. Riley between Lucas and farkle and Maya neat Shawn. "What took you so long to come here?" Asked farkle the girls. They just stared at each other without saying anything. How they could tell them about their little fight? "I lost my locket so Riley helped me find it" that was the only thing that popped into Maya's head so she said it. "What locket?" Asked Shawn, he never notice that Maya has a locket. "This one" Maya showed Shawn a gold heart locket. "Wow, looks great" said Shawn. "Thanks, I got it for my birthday from my mom" told him Maya. "That's nice" Shawn of course jealous at Maya that she has a mom. His mom left him and never came back, she didn't even sent anything. "What's your dad gave you?" Lucas, farkle and Riley looked down, trying to think what to answer. Maya's dad left her, never came back, never sent anything, never connected to Maya or her mother, he just disappeared and of course Shawn didn't know exactly how Maya and actually nobody knows about Shawn's family. "He umm he.." Maya didn't know what to answer. "He took us to a vacation, all of us" Lucas said. "He did?" Asked farkle confused, Lucas punched farkles leg under the table and farkle understood the hint, "oh yeah he did!" Farkle said with a lot of pains. Well Lucas is pretty strong. The bell rang and they went to class. Maya stopped Lucas and said to him "thank you for saving me" "it's ok, i know that it's hard for you to talk about your father. I don't want to see you suffer" Lucas had little crush on Maya. He loves how she always come up with so many different nicknames for him. He loves when she is trying to get to him, he loves when she speaks to him her blue eyes sparkle and when she is smiling he can see her perfect white teeth and of course her blonde curly hair.

School is over and Shawn said goodbye to his friends and went to the subway back home. When he entered to his house he saw his brother making some food. "Hey Shawn, how was school" "well you know, he was usual" Shawn started to tell him about the classes and about his friends, about Lucas, farkle, Riley and Maya. "Wow, it's sounds great" jack never thought Shawn could get some friends so fast but he was happy for him. He was happy that at least he don't need to worry about Shawn. Since his step father died, he need to pay everything, take care of everything, find a job. "Did you got a job?" Asked Shawn while eating jacks chicken, he's pretty good cooker. "I'm still looking but I got some options, but don't worry to me" he didn't really got some options, he even didn't start to look for job, but he just don't want Shawn to worry about him, he didn't want to ruin his day. He want to prove to him that he can deal with everything, but he knows it will take for him times to get used to the situation.
