Chapter 3

Riley and Shawn started to think what they're going to do for the assignment. "We can bring pictures of our grandparents and tell what they used to connect" Riley suggested. "I don't have that much photos and my grandparents died few years ago." Said Shawn. "Oh, umm what about your mom or dad?" Asked Riley, "they're on a vacation, remember?" "Then call them, text them, email them, I don't know do something" Riley didn't understand why Shawn had problem with his family. "I told you they're on a vacation why do you have to remind them over and over again!" Shawn got pissed of Riley, he couldn't hear the word parents anymore. "WHATS YOUR PROBLEM?" Why everything I remind your parents you scream, you get angry, what's the problem?" Riley shouted, "MY PROBLEM IS THAT I GOT NO PARENTS!" Shawn screamed and Riley shut upped. He couldn't believe he just said that. "W-what you mean you got n-no parents?" Riley was in shock from what she heard. "My mom left me long time ago and my dad..he..recently died from heart attack" tears came too shawn eyes and he couldn't stop them. Riley hugged him and Shawn cried on Riley's shoulder. "Riley..promise me your not going to tell this to anyone ANYONE" Riley nodded and they separated from the hug and Shawn went back to his home.

~tomorrow~
At class Riley couldn't stop thinking about Shawn's family story and how is similar to Maya's family story. She had to them together to talk about this, she needed a plan, she thinks she got the perfect plan.

At the cafeteria Maya told to Riley how Lucas talked about Shawn and how she is mad at him. "How can you be mad at him, he is cute, he got that face that you .. You can be mad at him" Riley started to dream, "Riley, do you have a crush on Lucas?" Asked Maya "maybe..ok fine yes" they both laughed. "You will be a cute couple, I promise" Maya smiled at Riley.

School was over and Maya was in her locker to put the books she don't need when Lucas came to her. "What do you want?" Asked Maya rudely "I just want to say that I'm sorry and I know I was a jerk and I just want to apologize" Lucas explained. "It's ok, I shouldn't act like that, it's not like you killed him" they both laughed and they went together home.

All this week, Riley and Shawn and Maya and Lucas worked on their assignment. They showed their assignments in front of the class there all went well. When everyone done mr. Matthews had a great announcement. "Ok students I'm very proud of your assignment, but I have a great announcement that I'm sure you will like" all the class was curious, "well, the school opened two choices classes, that mean you can choose between that or that. We have a poem class and art class" Maya's eyes were wide open, art was her escaping, she expressed her self in her drawing.

When Shawn heard about a poem class he was quit happy, he discovered that he can write poems in his old school. He mostly write about his family, he writes about the pain to be an orphan. And his poems are become beautiful.

"Ok so I will pass a paper where you write which class you choose". The paper passed between everyone. Maya chose art, Lucas saw that Maya chose art so he wanted too, Shawn chose poems, Riley chose art because she wants to be with her best friend, and farkle chose poems.

"Ok students, the classes were chosen, and from tomorrow you will start learning them".
