Chapter 10
Her POV

After breakfast I am formally introduced to the few new people of our group and I introduce the to Noah.

Abraham, Rosita, Eugene, Tara, and Father Gabriel all seem like nice people. It's nice to see a priest in this world now a days.

Tara seemed a little uneasy and Glenn brought her to talk to me.

"Uhm Beth.." She says looking down at her feet.

"What's up guys?" I ask feeling uncomfortable.

"Go on." Glenn says quietly and she nods.

"I'd like to apologize about your father, I was with the governor when everything happened at the prison. I had no idea he was going to do that. I'm so sorry." She says looking like she is going to cry.

At first I'm a little angry, but I can tell that she truly didn't mean for anything to happen.

I place my hand on her shoulder.

"It's okay, don't worry about it. Whats done is done I guess." I shrug half-heartedly thinking about my dad.

She nods and gives a slight smile and walks away.

It just leaves me and Glenn standing there.

I go to walk away, but he stops me.

I turn around and he pulls me into a hug.

"I'm sorry Beth, about Hershel, I also am so glad to see you and I wanted to wait to give you a hug considering everyone was so glad to see you." He says hugging tighter.

"Thanks Glenn, and uhm you're kinda hurtin' me." I say and laugh when he lets go also laughing.

"Alright everybody listen up!" Rick shouts silencing everybody's conversations.

"Abraham has told me that Eugene lied about being a scientist, so therefore there is no known cure for all of this. I'm sorry." Everyone nods in agreement. Personally I didn't really think there was. But I hoped.

"We are still going to go to D.C. though, there might be some sanctuary there for all of us." He says and everyone nods once again.

"We'll get supplies today, and leave early tomorrow. Everybody get some rest, we have a long trip ahead of us." He says and takes Judith back from Tyreese who was holding her for his speech.

"Okay. Tyreese, Daryl, Glenn, and I are going out on a run. Abraham, you stay here and keep watch and keep everything in order. Michone, keep Abraham in line." Ricks says smirking and I immediately speak up.

"I wanna come." I say and Rick hesitates and looks at Maggie and Glenn.

"I think its okay." Glenn says and I smile, even though I don't exactly like the fact that Rick has to ask them permission. They aren't my parents, but they are family.

"What's okay?" Daryl comes over and asks.

"That Beth comes with us." Rick tells him.

"Absolutely not!" He protests.

"Excuse me?" I ask a little annoyed.

"You aint goin', stay 'ere with your sister." He says a little quieter now, but still just as rude.

"You don't have that say Daryl. I can go if I want to, I need to learn eventually and y'all never let me go at the prison..." I trail off remembering our "home".

Maggie steps in." I think that would be okay Bethy, you have four strong men protectin' ya." She says trying to calm Daryl down a bit.

I don't know what he's getting so worked up, he certainly was never this worried while we were at the prison.

It only started while we were at that cemetery, after we burnt down that house.

"Fine." Daryl spits . "Damn, Greene blood." He says and walks off causing Glenn to laugh and Maggie to glare at him.

Rick comes over and hands me a gun.

"Listen, I know you can handle yerself, but please just be careful okay?" He says putting his hand on my cheek.

I nod. Rick was always like a caring uncle to me. Now a days he acts as my father. I don't mind it though.

We all pile into one of the hospital vans.

Rick driving, Tyreese in the passenger seat. In the second row of seats is Glenn with all of our weapons and in the back is Daryl and myself.

He is pressed up against one side and me on the other. Every time I move, even in the slightest, his eyes dart over and he tightens his grip on his crossbow. Man! What's his problem now?
