*Author's note:* Hey guys! So sorry for taking so long; I decided to spend more time on each chapter as I have discovered that the chapters come out better if I spend more time on them, at least in my opinion.

"Trust your instincts, Dovahkiin." - Paarthurnax.

Also, also, these last few chapters are gonna be a bit longer than usual, assuming longer chapters work, of course.

And finally, as of posting this chapter, this story has hit over 200 reads. This may not be a lot to more successful fanfic writers, but as someone who was unsure of whether people would like this story, it means a lot to me that so many people are reading and enjoying it. I'm sitting here thinking, "I'm an amateur, how are this many people reading it already?" It's a mystery to me, honestly. Regardless, thank you to all those who decided to give my work a shot and an even bigger thank you to all those who continued to read as I posted.

Now, let's get on with our regularly-scheduled programming...

A knock on the door.

King's nap was disturbed by a knock on the door. And then another.

Only on the third knock did he finally get up to investigate.

He trudged over to the door and opened it. There in front of him stood Amity, Willow and Gus, silhouetted against the afternoon sun.

"Hey, King," greeted Gus, "are Eda and Lilith home?"

King led the trio through the Owl House and to the door of Luz's bedroom.

"They must be in here," he said.

The door was then slowly opened by Willow - and everyone gasped, as what had greeted them on the other side was not even close to what they had expected.

The garbage site in front of them was littered with unfamiliar objects - perhaps collected from the human realm - of all shapes and sizes. From bent and rusted cylinders of metal, to unstuffed, moldy and dusty toy animals, to stained bits of pink and yellow striped cloth, these objects were all either found scattered randomly around the room, or in unrecognizable pieces of once-whole objects.

Many of these items leaked from chests which were violently tossed over, and some of these chests had small cracks or even gaping holes through which dust-painted clutter could be seen. This left splinters booby-trapping the right and upper sections of the floor. It was as if a lumberjack had been too lazy to pick up the aftermath of a particularly successful work day, visually polluting the natural environment.

And amongst the landfills of strange and intriguing antiques from the realm of humans, the group found the Clawthorne sisters resting on opposing sides of the room, both fast asleep.

To the left of them, Lilith was resting her head on top of a turned-over chest, from which the contents flowed out and onto the floor. She was resting with her back to the hard wood, while her hands rose and fell with her stomach, on which they rested comfortably like babies on a mother's lap.

To their right, Eda lay on the floor with her back turned to everyone. She lay in the fetal position, hugging herself and murmuring something while she slept.

"Aw, they sleep so peacefully," whispered Gus suddenly, resting his head on his hands as if he were laying eyes on an adorable creature.

Willow and Amity just shared a look.

"Yeah," Amity agreed, her arms folded, "let's wake them up. Willow, you wake up Eda; I'll take Lilith," she instructed.

Willow reluctantly nodded in agreement and the two went in their respective directions.
