When I arrived back at the school I made my way to the teacher's lounge and saw Veronica Lodge, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones and my cousin Betty Cooper already waiting there.
"Four musketeers, prey tell why for have we been summoned?" I asked but as I spoke, Kevin, Fangs and Toni appeared behind me.
"Hey, thanks for gathering on such short notice, Fangs and I have an announcement to make" Kevin spoke.
"We're engaged" Fangs exclaimed
I was so happy for them, they've been together since high school, they deserved to be happy but I sensed there was more and why was Toni stood by their sides?
"Wait there is more" Fangs spoke again
"We're having a baby" Kevin added.
Something didn't feel right, it was ever so slowly clicking into place.
No, no, no.
"We're having THE baby" Kevin said placing his hands on Toni's baby bump.
My heart sank.
"I'm having our baby, we planning to raise this child together, the three of us, as one big, non traditional family" Toni explained.
Betty, Jughead, Archie and Veronica all stood up to congratulate the throuple but I stood still in shock.
"What in the actual... fuck?" I said to myself
I caught sight of Toni, she looked worried about my reaction, I just left out the back door and sat on a bench round the back the school, thinking....
Why Kevin and Fangs? Why wouldn't Toni tell me this from the beginning? Why did she lure me out of my house just to rub her happiness in my face?
15 minutes had passed and I decided I was going to confront Toni about this. I stormed through the hallways and busted straight through her office door.
"And they call me Cherry Bombshell" I stated
"Cheryl, good, I actually wanted to talk to you about stepping back from the Vixens" Toni explained
Ignoring this ridiculous suggestion, I carried on with my confrontation.
"Tell me, did it not occur to you to give me any advance warning about your offsprings lineage?" I demanded
"Well, to be honest Cheryl, I wanted to tell you. Not just as my co-captain but as my friend. But based on your recent behaviour I didn't even think we had that relationship anymore"
"Did this idea originate with Kevin or?"
"Me, Cheryl... when I was a junior in High Smith College I found out I have medical condition that makes it harder to get pregnant the older I am"
My heart hurt a little, I knew how much Toni wanted to be a mother, we used to day dream about raising two girls and two boys together when we got older. I walked forward and sat myself down on the chair.
"Toni, I had no idea, I'm so sorry"
"Anyways, doctors said if I really want to have kids, I need to do it while I'm young"
"I understand, but Kevin and Fangs?"
"Fangs is like family to me, we got initiated into the serpents together. Besides, I did come to you first, years ago"
"Wh-what?" I asked shockingly
"When I came to Thornhill shortly after I graduated college, you shunned me away, said you wanted to finish your damn painting and said that we could talk another time but you never called and you never answered my calls. I came to see if you wanted to get back together, I was going to tell you all about my medical condition and ask if you wanted to maybe look for a for a sperm doner and raise the baby together, but I got sick of waiting for you and my time was quite literally running out, so when Fangs and Kevin started talking about adoption or looking for a surrogate mother, I volunteered"
