I got back to Thornhill and walked through the doors smiling like an idiot.
"What's that face Cheryl?" My mother asked and my smile suddenly dropped.
"It's nothing mother, I'm just smiling" I explained
"You've ben with that pink haired serpent haven't you?" She questioned.
"She hasn't got pink hair any more mumzie, but how-how did you know that I was with Toni?" I asked
"You look like a teenager again Cheryl, you have the same grin on your face that I saw when you first brought her home for your father's will reading 10 years ago"
"So what now mother? You going to hit me now? Lock me away? Tell me to stay away from her? I'm an adult now, you can get out of my house if you think for moment that you're going to treat Toni and I like you did back then" I said sternly
"Nightmare child calm down, I wasn't going to say a word about yours or the serpent's sexuality. My only issue is that she's a serpent Cheryl, may I remind you that a serpent moped up your brothers blood and hid his body in a freezer. I don't care that she's a woman"
"Since when? You've been trying make me straight my whole life, you paid off Heather's parents to leave the country to keep her away from me all because you caught us kissing at 13 years old, you and Daddy tried so hard to force me into a relationship with Archie Andrews all because he was a red haired boy and not brunette haired girl" I scoffed
"I told you, I've changed Cheryl. I understand your sexual attraction to a woman" my mother spoke
My face cringed, hearing my mother talking about my sexual attraction was utterly mortifying. I was speechless, she looked so genuine though.
She can't be serious?
"You-you do? Really?" I asked trying not show how embarrassed I was.
"Yes, for God sake Cheryl may I remind you I've been in an all women's ward of a prison for 7 whole years" My mother said with a hinting expression on her face.
Oh god. I knew what she meant. Gross. I can't believe this.
I couldn't hide my facial expression any longer, I closed my eyes tightly with embarrassment.
"Right... Okay mother, thanks for that detail I really didn't need to know about your time in jail. I'm going to go scream into my pillow now" I shuddered.
I had to tell Toni about this. I pulled out my phone to see I already had a text from Toni waiting for me.
