guys, saying that white people have no culture is wrong on so, so many levels.

first things first (I'm a realist - if you don't get this reference then shoo) being 'white' is not a culture. I feel like maybe black/poc can claim a culture due to our shared experiences (childhood drama with household objects, problematic relatives on our dad's side, the constant ✨racism and fetishism✨) but even that doesn't really make sense since our foods, clothing and other stuff are not the same. (but guys, I've actually seen a couple of links between certain parts of African culture and certain parts of Asian culture!)

secondly, if you take white people (talking about Europeans here, because Americans are a whole other story) and separate them into their country, region, district etc, they have a culture. my grandma is white. in the region she comes from, there is traditional dress (I really wanna try it one day guys, it's the only traditional dress I've never worn before, but I'm also kinda scared that people will judge me for wearing 'white clothes'. it also happens to have a MASSIVE headpiece, and I cannot stand headpieces. just my luck to end up with 3 traditional dresses where headpieces are a thing 😥. the only headpieces I like are crowns/tiaras). there is traditional food (some of my favourite foods ever). there is traditional dance (I really wanna learn them 🥺). there is so much other stuff.

however, if it is an American tryna tell you tacos are American, feel free to cuss them out.

if it is a British person saying curry and tea is british, feel free to cuss them out too.

like always, thanks for coming to my Ted talk x
