Dumbledore's Downfall (it'll take place, just later on): Year 1

Chapter 19

The boys had been back in school for a few months and things were going pretty smoothly. Lucius had enacted a few more smaller things, but so far he was being met with positivity. He had a lot of creature support, especially since the Lycanthropy Act. He had enacted better laws for muggle born wizards to make sure they weren't being mistreated at home. Now all incoming first years at Hogwarts had to go through a medical exam, even if they are coming from wizarding families.

Things were going normally at school for the boys. Ron was finally leaving Harry alone, and Harry was opening up a bit more to other people besides the Slytherin. He made friends with Luna, even though Pansy thought she was a bit weird, but Harry didn't mind. Lockhart still got a bit on his nerves, seeming to insist Harry needed to embrace his "fame", whatever that meant, but Harry just ignored him. Dumbledore seemed to not give them really any problems either, which Severus thought was weird, but was thankful for it

All too soon it was time for the boys and Severus to leave school. That same day Lucius was making his announcement to pardon Tom, and the whole family was going to be there. Once Severus, Harry, and Draco had flooed home, they got changed and flooed directly into Lucius's office, where Lucius and Tom were waiting. Few people in the ministry knew what would be happening today.

Lucius took a deep breath and smiled when he saw Severus and the boys. "I'm glad you are here, go get a seat in the front. Once I announce Tom's pardon we are gonna go straight home, just in case anything bad happens. I'm just a bit nervous." He said softly

Severus smiled and hugged Lucius gently. "It is going to be okay Lucius. People like you, and if you are telling the truth about Tom. Just relax." He said gently

Lucius hugged back and nodded. "Okay you three can stay here with Tom, and I'm going to get this started."

"Good luck papa!" Draco said with a smile

"Yeah! Now dad can go out with us and stuff!" Harry said with a smile.

Lucius smiled at his boys and soon it was time for him to speak. He took a deep breath and walked out to where he was going to speak.

"I would like to thank you all for coming. I am going to try and make this quick. As some of you know, there has been a prophecy of sorts. Whisperings of a dark lord coming from certain people who are against me and what I stand for. As well all know certain deaths were placed on Tom Riddle. Well, today I am going to be pardoning him. Tom wasn't the person who committed those murders all those years ago. I know this because I am married to him. At this time my husband will not be making any statements or taking questions. He will come to the papers at his own time. That is all I have for you. Thank you."

Lucius made his way back to his office. "We can floo home from here." He said and the little family flooed home.

The following days were a bit of whirlwind for the family. A lot of articles were being published in the papers, and the wizarding world wasn't exactly sure what to think. They were waiting for Tom to do something. So that's what Tom did, he went to Rita. Tom told Rita "his story". He first started off with how Dumbeldore tried to forbid Severus from being with him in Luce. He then talked about how the blame was shoved on him when Harry's parents were murdered, because of Dumbledore and how he had also put the blame on Sirius for killing those 12 muggles. He then talked about how he felt his children and husbands weren't safe around the man. Tom told Rita he was the one to get the information on Umbridge. He told Rita everything, and when the story broke that next day, people were furious.

The people were furious at how Dumbledore and the Ministry could fail Tom. Luckily Lucius assured everyone new things would be coming soon, and some good changes as well. Dumbledore was being slandered a lot, but nobody had called for his dismissal. Tom was waiting for the man to make a mistake, and he knew the man would, especially now that the spotlight was on him, but that would have to wait until the school year, right now he wanted to focus on finally being able to go out with his boys and husbands.

After Tom had told his story, and things had settled, he took Lucius and Severus out to dinner, like he had been wanting to do for years. The boys were being watched by Sirius and Remus. Tom, Luce, and Sev bid them farewell, and were off. Tom smiled, having gotten the best spots he could in the restaurants for his husbands.

Once they were seated, and had ordered some wine Tom sighed happily. "It is so nice to actually take you both out, and in a place where I can dance with you both." He said with a smile.

Sev shifted a bit, "I agree, but did we really have to put me in dark purple dress robes, I feel so...colorful."

Lucius and Tom both started chuckling at their husband. His typical dungeon bat self only enjoyed black, but Tom and Lucius both thought that Severus looked stunning, and the dark color still matched his usual dark demeanor he liked to play.

"You look stunning Severus, and I intend to show off what is mine." Tom said with a purr, and kissed his cheek

Severus blushed, clearing his throat so he could change the subject. "So, I think Harry has taken a liking to Blaise Zabini." He said and looked up at his husbands

Lucius smiled a bit. "He is a nice boy, but how did you come to that conclusion. I mean I could say the same for Draco and any of his friends, they are close." Lucius took a sip of his wine.

"Well, Harry is shy around the Slytherins, but I see him often talking and blushing around Blaise. Let's not ask Harry though, I don't want him to feel pressured or anything." Severus said softly

Tom chuckled softly and nodded, soon the waiter coming and taking their orders. "So, will Albus actually hire Remus this year? If he doesn't I'm making a fuss as a parent, since I can do that now. Lockhart is not qualified to teach. Hell, he shouldn't even be qualified to be a wizard, the man is so dense."

Severus took a sip of his wine. "I'm not entirely sure, but I think he quit after an incident with one if the 7th years chewing him out. It wasn't a Slytherin, so I'm not entirely sure."

Tom nodded. "Good, I don't really think Harry and Draco learned a thing from him." He smiled when some Waltz music started up and turned to Severus. "May I have this dance." He teased his husband and stood up.

Severus smiled and nodded, the two going to dance, and soon Severus swapped out, so Lucius could dance with Tom as well, since their food hadn't come out yet. After some dancing, food, and more wine the three men returned home a bit late, glad to find that Sirius and Remus had actually gotten the boys to bed.

Draco and Harry had a good summer. The family had actually gone to Paris for a few weeks, when Lucius had a chance to take some time off. A few more changes regarding child abuse had been passed as well as some creature laws. Also, Dumbledore actually hired Remus on to be the new DADA teacher. Tom actually thought for once the man had done something good. All too soon for the boys it was once again time to get their school supplies, so they could start another year at Hogwarts.
