I was standing with Flynn and Lydia at school watching Nick ask Julie out on a date. Julie has been waiting for this day for so long. I'm so happy for her.

I've been in a daze lately. Luke has been clouding my brain. So many questions revolving around us. So few answers.

Lydia noticed it too. At lunch we had a talk. I was staring at a piece of music Luke wrote. It was "Unsaid Emily". It was so beautiful and so sad at the same time.

"Rory, you need to stop." She said softly and held my hands. I looked up slowly.

"I can't. It's like you said. This whole Luke thing isn't going away any time soon."

"But you can find someone who makes you happy. Someone who's real."

"He is real to me. It's not about finding someone, Lydia. When have I ever wanted to be with someone?" I asked. She was silent. Relationships just weren't on my radar. "Lydia, I have never connected to someone like I do with him."

"You do sing really well together." She let out.

"It's not just singing. When we write, we're drawing from the same pain. We both know how it feels to lose our moms." I said softly.

"Do not make me cry." Lydia said and looked away from me.

"Luke's hurting so much, I wish I could help him." I said and looked at my hands.

"Maybe you can write him a song?" She suggested.

That let me think something else. I looked at the song in front of me and had an epiphany.

I can bring the song to his mom. She'll know how much Luke loved her, even if he didn't show it.

I looked up at Lydia with a smile.

After school, I know what I'm doing.

I slowly walked up the driveway of Luke's parents and was about to ring the doorbell. Was this overstepping?

Before I even could, Luke poofed on the porch. Shoot.

"Luke!" I exclaimed. Looks of confusion took over his face.

"What are you doing here?" He asked. Well, here we go.

"Okay, look. I...I just wanted to know more about you, you know, just curious. So, I came here last week on your birthday." I rambled. He walked closer to me.

"You were spying on me? Even after all your speeches about boundaries, you were spying on me?" He asked. He didn't raise his voice. He was just asking.

"I know. I'm sorry. It was wrong. But i'm worried about you." I said sincerely, into his eyes.

"You don't have to be." He said and looked away from me.
