"Remember to be home by 9 and call us if you need anything", Gwen told her. "I will" replied Chris. That day, Chris and Richie arranged to go see "Batman" at the movie theatre and go to the arcade. She noticed that Lizzie had a grin on her face. "Why are you looking at me like that?". she asked her.
"I just find it cute that you have a special someone to go to the movies with", she replied. Chris didn't argue that it wasn't a date, but technically, it kind of was. There was no denying that her and Richie had a special connection. Chris and Richie rode their bikes to the movie theatre together and got their seats. "Do you think this will end up like one of those cheesy first dates where you pretend to yawn and put you arm around me?", Chris asked.
"No. Did you want to be?", asked Richie. He didn't consider himself a romantic, but he wasn't sure what to expect from Chris. He brought two straws for him and Chris to share an Icee together and that was the least he could do to be romantic.
"Well, no"
"Okay. At least we won't be those couples that swap spit in the back row"
"Yeah, they're gross"
As the film started, Chris felt her hand brush against Richie's. Richie glanced down at both of their hands and slowly intertwined his hand with hers'. Chris couldn't help , but link her hand with Richie's.

After leaving the arcade, the two of them sat in a field and star gazed. "You know, Richie, you're not really half bad", Chris said. "I mean, you're one of the only people that treat me better than some people in my life".
"Thanks. I can be an asshole sometimes, but I try my best", shrugged Richie.
"I never really had a home"
"Well, this your home now", he turned to her.
She gave him ahalf smile. He slowly leaned closer to her and pressed his lips against hers.
