Wooo! 10K special! Hope you'll like it!
Draco and Harry got close after they both comforted each other in moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Both of them were sobbing.
Draco brought Harry into his arms and Harry hugged him back. They stayed sobbing with each other. Not speaking a word yet they somehow knew what the other felt.
A year later, in 5th-year, Draco kissed Harry for the first time and for a moment nothing mattered except each other. The war, the pressures put on them, them being on opposite sides of a war, the trauma the war gave them, all of it was outside and in this moment both of them could let go.
They kept what they had a secret. No know could know. If someone found out, both of them could be in danger. So everything they had was for them to see and only them. They would meet up on Friday, while everyone was busy with homework, and escape the world by letting down all of their walls. And being normal teenagers for once.
With each other, they could be themselves, not the 'Golden Boy' who could do no wrong or the Slytherin prince son one of Voldemorts most loyal followers.
During those few hours, they could do anything they want, be anything they want. The freedom of not having to live up to something helping greatly. But all good things must come to an end.Draco got the mark and couldn't do anything. He felt as if he betrayed Harry and it became so very hard to look him in the eyes. He kept seeing him of course, although something changed. Draco knew and Harry did too, neither of them said anything.
7th-year started and Draco didn't meet up with Harry. It wasn't a big thing, they were busy people and sometimes didn't have time. Though it was rare for him not to say anything it.
Weeks went by and Harry slowly started to lose hope of Draco coming. Harry was heartbroken. He stopped eating and talking to his friends for days and would stop coming to class.
Hermione and Ron got worried and tried to help him out of his state. They had thought it helped because they would see him and he would talk to them. But... Harry was never the same. He shut down, focusing only on how he could defeat Voldemort. Nothing else seemed to matter to him.
Harry defeated him after a gruelling battle, losing almost everyone he thought of as family. He looked at the spot Voldemort once stood again and fell to his knees. He lifted his hands to wipe the tears that were starting to form.
Draco looked from afar to Harry. He wanted to distance himself for Harry's safety, but all he did was break him even more. Every time he looked at him, he never saw that goofy smile he always had or the excitement of magic he still had from growing up a muggle.
Draco slowly walked away and left the wizarding world in shame and a wanting to start a new. Harry stayed for his friends and the hope of falling in love with Ginny as everyone expected him to. But he soon also ran away.
Neither of them seen again by their friends. Except for a letter a year after Harry left. A photo was all that was sent. A photo of Harry holding a child looking to be the age of 6, next to him another child older maybe 10, and behind that child Draco his arm around Harry. All of them looking genuinely happy.
Hope you liked it. It was a bit more angsty than normal. Have a lovely day!
Bye qazwc!
